Sorry for the grammar! This writer's take on electroclash for the main part is on target, ignore the dumb comments about whites tho.

That's the beauty of it ... rolling your eyes to the music, then fixing them on Veronica Webb and Chloe Sevigny. New York looking at L.A. looking at New York.

so does that mean i wont see you at luxx tonite? soviet is playing again.

What about the other dumb comments? This guy strikes me as a trendy fellow who is disappointed that the current trend isn't trendy in the right way for him. Tough luck. Reason #4356 why I don't really ever want to live in New York--its critics bleed with the same shallow snobbery as its champions.

but but but alex! san francisco isn't exactly non-trendy or anything -- but i agree, nyc is a whole different planet.

this comment in particular from the article cracked me up:

------
Sometimes I go to Luxx and have an excellent time, although the music is kind of derivative—but whatever—it's all very cute, very current and edgy, you know, very that.
------

Jeez, how completely jaded and superficial do you have to be to write stuff like the above statement? Very that....oh god I can't stop laughing..."cute", "current", and oh god oh god he used the word "EDGY"! hahhahahaha

Laugh. Don't get me started about what I don't like about San Francisco!! I could write a book. Still this author's particular attitude is much more New York than SF.

I like this article. It's refreshingly bitchy. There's only so far you can encourage the little tykes before you start asking them to be, you know, GOOD and stuff.
