I didn't even think twice, I've already answered this question for myself. But I'll be shocked if my choice wins.

Dimension 5ive, Friday, 13 April 2007 19:02 (eighteen years ago)

if your choice is Motorbooty Affair it might

Shakey Mo Collier, Friday, 13 April 2007 19:05 (eighteen years ago)

I am Sir Nose D'Voidoffunk. I have always been devoid of funk. I shall continue to be devoid of funk.

The Reverend, Friday, 13 April 2007 19:08 (eighteen years ago)

Clones.

chaki, Friday, 13 April 2007 19:12 (eighteen years ago)

um yeah that is a weird choice. is it just me or does that album sound like its mixed and mastered completely differently than all the others? maybe its just the CD reissue I have but that one's always stood out as not really sounding like any other Parliament album - something thin-sounding and washed out about it.

Shakey Mo Collier, Friday, 13 April 2007 19:13 (eighteen years ago)

Another tough one. I went with Mothership despite almost choosing Funkentelechy or clones.

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy, Friday, 13 April 2007 19:32 (eighteen years ago)

I can understand Osmium not being included, but shouldn't [i}P-funk Earth Tour[/i] be up there?

Oh, well, it didn't get my vote anyways...

Myonga Vön Bontee, Friday, 13 April 2007 19:43 (eighteen years ago)

Hard to choose between "Mothership Connection" and "Funkentelechy...", but voted for the latter because of "Flash Light"

Geir Hongro, Friday, 13 April 2007 20:18 (eighteen years ago)

As good a reason as any. It really is a tough one.

I love the 12" version of Flashlight.

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy, Friday, 13 April 2007 20:37 (eighteen years ago)

u alright geir

rps, Friday, 13 April 2007 20:38 (eighteen years ago)

haha Geir never said he hated all funk. (I don't think he did anyway)

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy, Friday, 13 April 2007 21:22 (eighteen years ago)

Nope. I hate James Brown. I really like Earth Wind & Fire a lot, and Funkadelic/Parliament is nice enough too. :)

Geir Hongro, Friday, 13 April 2007 22:12 (eighteen years ago)

I hear ya on clones

sexyDancer, Friday, 13 April 2007 22:13 (eighteen years ago)

haha poll results already

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy, Friday, 13 April 2007 23:44 (eighteen years ago)

I would've voted for the one that won, had I got here on time (but only 'cause Osmium's missing.)

xhuxk, Friday, 13 April 2007 23:45 (eighteen years ago)

Shakey said he left out Osmium as everyone who likes Funkadelic but doesn't like Parliament votes for it.
I kinda see his point BUT it was a Parliament album. And pretty damn great too.

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy, Friday, 13 April 2007 23:47 (eighteen years ago)

haha I forgot to actually vote!

Shakey Mo Collier, Saturday, 14 April 2007 00:21 (eighteen years ago)

I have no idea how I'd vote if I had the chance still, but Motor Booty Affair really got slept on here. I think I'd pick it over Funkentelechy when it comes down to it. Fantastic sound all the way through and not a single snoozer ("Handcuffs" kills Mothership in its tracks and "Wizard of Finance" does even worse things to Funkentelechy).

Doctor Casino, Saturday, 14 April 2007 01:54 (eighteen years ago)

I would hope Up For The Down Stroke would've got more votes if the poll had lasted a bit longer. I quite like that album too.

The question is, if Osmium had been here, would it have ran away with it?

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy, Saturday, 14 April 2007 12:40 (eighteen years ago)

It's strange that Mothership Connection got the same votes as Chocolate City. Did everyone vote for that as they expected Mothership Connection to win as it usually does?

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy, Monday, 16 April 2007 01:59 (eighteen years ago)

I am surprised by Funkentelechy winning, that's the one I voted for.

Dimension 5ive, Monday, 16 April 2007 02:04 (eighteen years ago)

(I almost voted for Motorbooty.)

Myonga Vön Bontee, Monday, 16 April 2007 07:07 (eighteen years ago)

im surprised too. clones is so much better. its been my default singing in the shower album for years now.

chaki, Monday, 16 April 2007 08:38 (eighteen years ago)

I think it may have won because of "Flashlight".

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy, Monday, 16 April 2007 10:27 (eighteen years ago)

wizard of finance destroys flashlight

chaki, Monday, 16 April 2007 10:30 (eighteen years ago)

Including the 12" version of Flashlight?

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy, Monday, 16 April 2007 19:02 (eighteen years ago)

I missed this poll, "Mothership Connection" is one of the best albums made in any genre, so it should have won, but "Funkentelechy" seems to be favoured among PFunkers, I think the songs are too long personally

Tom D., Tuesday, 17 April 2007 09:02 (eighteen years ago)

A lot of people like Clones too, Dada.

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy, Tuesday, 17 April 2007 11:33 (eighteen years ago)

"Clones" is good, but it's more of a pop album. Also, suprised "Motor Booty" didn't get any votes...

Tom D., Tuesday, 17 April 2007 11:35 (eighteen years ago)

Clones is a great pop album though!

I think the reason there's hardly any votes is because shakey made a mistake and only ran the poll for one day.
But it can't be redone as vahid and co will moan about too many polls again.

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy, Tuesday, 17 April 2007 15:30 (eighteen years ago)

"Funkentelechy" seems to be favoured among PFunkers, I think the songs are too long personally

I hate to say it, but you're right. I always want to put "Bop Gun" on mixtapes for people that don't know Parliament, and then discover in the taping just how lonnnnnnnng it goes on. :(

Doctor Casino, Tuesday, 17 April 2007 17:46 (eighteen years ago)

It's a REAL SHAME this poll finished so early.

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy, Thursday, 19 April 2007 12:59 (eighteen years ago)

Who would've voted Osmium if it had been included?

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy, Thursday, 19 April 2007 23:24 (eighteen years ago)

I would have gone with Osmium, but that's because it is closer to Funkadelic in tone.

EZ Snappin, Friday, 20 April 2007 02:14 (eighteen years ago)

That's why Shakey didn't include it.

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy, Friday, 20 April 2007 09:24 (eighteen years ago)

HI DERE!

The Amazing Randy, Friday, 20 April 2007 13:07 (eighteen years ago)

nine months pass...

Is it just me, or is Motor Booty really great morning music?

liquid sunshine is the happiest song on earth

m bison, Monday, 28 January 2008 07:22 (seventeen years ago)

woulda voted funkentelechy as it's my fav album of any group, followed by motorbooty, chocolate city, then mothership. that's like my holy foursome.

m bison, Monday, 28 January 2008 07:24 (seventeen years ago)

"Wizard of Finance" does even worse things to Funkentelechy

this is like 11 pounds of bullshit. it combines two of america's great traditions: money and eternal love.

m bison, Monday, 28 January 2008 07:26 (seventeen years ago)

and a third: wizardry

m bison, Monday, 28 January 2008 07:27 (seventeen years ago)

It's always worth remembering these guys were once the Parliaments for a reason.

If Osmium is the Parliament album that should've been a Funkadelic album, then Uncle Jam Wants You is its opposite number. (So there.)

Myonga Vön Bontee, Monday, 28 January 2008 19:18 (seventeen years ago)

I've always thought that Funkentelechy... would be the most incredible acid experience ever.
