Hey but there WASN'T any "Chicago II", really!

Whatever. I like "Twenty 1" cuz it's so...'90s or something.

Myonga Vön Bontee, Friday, 13 April 2007 21:08 (nineteen years ago)

That would be "Night And Day" obv.

Geir Hongro, Friday, 13 April 2007 22:25 (nineteen years ago)

Not because it's such a great title, but....

Geir Hongro, Friday, 13 April 2007 22:26 (nineteen years ago)

i think chicago II was the later name assigned to the second album, but i could be wrong. i'm voting for chicago XXX because of the vaguely pornographic name.

rps, Friday, 13 April 2007 22:26 (nineteen years ago)

Fair enough

Myonga Vön Bontee, Friday, 13 April 2007 22:46 (nineteen years ago)

I voted for Chicago II on the off chance that it may not exist.

P.S. Chicago is the worst band of all-time worth hating. Deeds of Flesh is the worst band of all-time not worth hating.

Kevin John Bozelka, Saturday, 14 April 2007 07:43 (nineteen years ago)

whats wrong with Deeds of Flesh?

matt o, Saturday, 14 April 2007 17:06 (nineteen years ago)

I don't think there was a Chicago II. They shortened their name between the first and second album, which means both of them were 100 per cent eponymous without having the same title.

Geir Hongro, Saturday, 14 April 2007 17:23 (nineteen years ago)

Btw. which of the first four Peter Gabriel albums had the best title? :)

Geir Hongro, Saturday, 14 April 2007 17:23 (nineteen years ago)

Kevin John off the money, they were a very interesting band until their 12th record. THEN they became a sucky bad slow jamm machine.

Dimension 5ive, Saturday, 14 April 2007 17:37 (nineteen years ago)

Not a lot of jamming on those albums, really.

Btw. I would say they were kind of OK during the late 70s. It wasn't until they started bringing in outside MOR songwriters such as David Foster and Diane Warren that they really started sucking.

Geir Hongro, Saturday, 14 April 2007 18:07 (nineteen years ago)

Ok maybe Deeds of Flesh are worth hating. But nowhere near as much as Chicago.

Chicago are the reverse Bee Gees. Where the latter blessed us with two distinct epochs of music, Chicago tortured us with two distinct epochs of appalling schmusic. and maybe even a third if you count the Peter Cetera-less horrors of the late 1980s and beyond, some of which were extremely popular. Unlike Deeds of Flesh.

Btw. which of the first four Peter Gabriel albums had the best title? :)

I'd say Security.

Pleasant Plains, Saturday, 14 April 2007 18:34 (nineteen years ago)

why are so many people a-holes?

matt o, Sunday, 15 April 2007 18:37 (nineteen years ago)

"Security" was not the album's real name, so not a valid answer. The album's original name was "Peter Gabriel" and it was only his US record label who insisted the album get a title.

Geir Hongro, Sunday, 15 April 2007 21:09 (nineteen years ago)

The US is a real place. I know, I live here. Thus, the title counts.

unperson, Sunday, 15 April 2007 21:50 (nineteen years ago)

were they the secret inspiration for Factory?

zaxxon25, Monday, 16 April 2007 15:14 (nineteen years ago)

Which one of George Foreman's sons has the best name?

AKA Mr. Jaq, Tuesday, 17 April 2007 00:08 (nineteen years ago)

Back in the 70s I said I would never buy a Chicago album until they reached XX. Thank God they skipped it.
