Not really a music question, but close

The songs on my IPOD were gone when i plugged it into my computer
I have no idea how they were deleted.

The songs are no longer on the IPOD but the space is still taken up by the songs i had on the IPOD. I only have about 100 mb of free space
Is there anyway i can fix this.

copy all .m4a (in folders titles 001, 002, 002, 003 in ipodcontrol/music, i think) files into your hard drive form the ipod
format the pod
drag all the m4a files into itunes
done

mine keeps crashing, freezing up while on battery power, not recognizing the library when it reboots, and then magically rediscovering the files if I leave it off for like two days. I am in Peru away from not only my computer but, like, every Mac ever made.

SUCK.

mine did what pyite's did; i reformatted and re-added everything, and within a few weeks it became quite obvious that the hard drive was completely fucked. it's a sign of the beginning of the end
