Laub - Deinetwegen

i quite liked laub's 1st 2 albums but 2002's "filesharing" just seemed lame and uninteresting and the more recent AGF stuff likewise has left me cold. so i tried their new one with some trepidation. but... it's quite lovely. they use blues riffs / chord progressions / "feel" imbibed with electronics. there's the same dissolved, uninterested vocals but that juxstaposes nicely with the "real" emotion of the blues - all those bendy, flattened notes. maybe it's just my age but it works really well in this context. (and, no, i was never a blues officianado - quite the opposite in fact).
