Ethan Gaymead, Friday, 20 April 2007 15:56 (eighteen years ago)

Anyone voted yet? I did miss some. Maybe I should make a Part 2 poll with the bands I forgot?

Ethan Gaymead, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:15 (eighteen years ago)

no, its ok. this is plenty

frankie driscoll, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:16 (eighteen years ago)

Plenty? Are they as good as Other?

Marcello Carlin, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:17 (eighteen years ago)

They have more overdrive on the bass believe it or not!

frankie driscoll, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:18 (eighteen years ago)

Gay Against You are pretty undeniable.

Noodle Vague, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:18 (eighteen years ago)

weird shortlist

never acid again, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:19 (eighteen years ago)

What's weird about? Shall I create a Part Two poll?

Ethan Gaymead, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:23 (eighteen years ago)

I guess you're probably referring to the Teenagers then? I know they're not strictly Newu Rave, more like Indie Rave, but they are undeniably part of the Newu Rave scene are they not?

Ethan Gaymead, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:24 (eighteen years ago)

must be a troll

cutty, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:26 (eighteen years ago)

no Hadouken or Shitdisco seems a bit odd, when you've got We Smoke Fags, and U Remind Me Of Rasputin

never acid again, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:27 (eighteen years ago)

no new young pony club, no crystal castles

cutty, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:29 (eighteen years ago)

no poni hoax

cutty, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:29 (eighteen years ago)

Like I said I did forget a few. I also forgot Dreamburger and Crystal Castles. Fuck it, shall I just make the 2nd part? You can always vote other? What bands would you have shortlisted?

Ethan Gaymead, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:29 (eighteen years ago)

no datarock

cutty, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:30 (eighteen years ago)

NO, PLEASE GOD, DO NOT MAKE ANOTHER NEW RAVE POLL YOU RETARD

cutty, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:30 (eighteen years ago)

Poni Hoax are just a Lost Penguin rip off though.

Ethan Gaymead, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:30 (eighteen years ago)

It seems like you must like New Rave though. Why would you not want another poll? Or do you just write for a magazine?

Ethan Gaymead, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:31 (eighteen years ago)

polls are shit

never acid again, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:33 (eighteen years ago)

make your assumptions
polls are stupid
you fucked up the poll in the first place by not knowing anything
i am not a music critic

cutty, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:34 (eighteen years ago)

Some others I forgot: The Outlaws, The Boys, Well Bum Partyboys, Dead Kids, Young Cubs, Health, Paralells.

Ethan Gaymead, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:37 (eighteen years ago)

This dude is going to go from nought to BAN ETHAN GAYMEAD in record time, I feel.

Matt DC, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:38 (eighteen years ago)

I thought this was a pretty good poll personally.

Ethan Gaymead, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:38 (eighteen years ago)

Why would you ban me? I thought this was I Love Music?

Ethan Gaymead, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:39 (eighteen years ago)

BAN ETHAN GAYMEAD

cutty, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:39 (eighteen years ago)

nothing worse than an overenthusiastic uninformed new poster with gay in his name

cutty, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:39 (eighteen years ago)

What passing-bells for these who die as cattle?
Only the monstrous anger of their guns.
Only the stuttering rifles' rapid fire
Can patter out their hasty orisons.
No mockeries now for them; no prayers nor bells;
Nor any voice of mourning save the choirs,
The shrill, demented choirs of wailing shells;
And bugles calling for them from sad shires.
What candles may be held to speed them all?
Not in the hands of boys, but in their eyes
Shall shine the holy glimmers of good-byes.
The pallor of girls' brows shall be their pall;
Their flowers the tenderness of patient minds,
And each slow dusk a drawing-down of blinds.

Roberto Spiralli, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:41 (eighteen years ago)

I think I'm pretty informed actually. Just because you only know the Klaxons and think you're New Rave don't cry mate.

Ethan Gaymead, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:42 (eighteen years ago)

Don't cry about it mate.

Ethan Gaymead, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:42 (eighteen years ago)

try not to be so earnest

zaxxon25, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:48 (eighteen years ago)

HE IS MADE UP. FFS.

Groke, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:50 (eighteen years ago)

Any new voters? I'm stll considering making part two. If you like any of the other bands not shortlisted then just write them in the thread and I will take into account when I gather the results.

Ethan Gaymead, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:55 (eighteen years ago)

The View.

Matt DC, Friday, 20 April 2007 16:59 (eighteen years ago)

Try with New Wave bands Grandad. You do know what New Rave is right, GD?

Ethan Gaymead, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:00 (eighteen years ago)

it's a wave, dave

never acid again, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:00 (eighteen years ago)

please tell us what new rave is, ethan gaymead!

cutty, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:01 (eighteen years ago)

are most of these artists only covered in artocker magazine and NME new bands page?

djmartian, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:03 (eighteen years ago)

Bands like Lost Penguin, the Klaxons, Dreamburger, Crystal Castles, We Smoke Fags, Bolt Action 5 are new Rave.

Ethan Gaymead, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:03 (eighteen years ago)

No Lost Penguin have also been in Dazed and Confused and the MEtro a few times.

Ethan Gaymead, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:04 (eighteen years ago)

I thought you were cool until you forgot the Well Bum Partyboys

Hans Rott, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:11 (eighteen years ago)

Would you say the Gossip are New Rave or New Rock Revolution?

Ethan Gaymead, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:11 (eighteen years ago)

ROCK ROCK ROCK REVOLUTIONS PHATTY BEATS

Mr. Que, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:12 (eighteen years ago)

THEY ARE OLYMPIC RIOT GIRL SCRUM ROCK

Mr. Que, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:12 (eighteen years ago)

Would you say the Gossip are New Rave or New Rock Revolution?

OK I'm calling sockpuppet, no way this is real

Hans Rott, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:13 (eighteen years ago)

Because they started during the New Rock Revolution but I think they have changed their style of music sufficiently to be New Rave. Or maybe Electro Rock is more accurate?

Ethan Gaymead, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:14 (eighteen years ago)

The thing is it's too well done for Marcello or Noodle because they tend towards forgetting which login their on and giving the game away.

jim, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:16 (eighteen years ago)

"they are on" even.

jim, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:16 (eighteen years ago)

The Gossip invented New Rave way back in 1999, but they jealously guarded it from outsiders who wanted in. that was until the dastardly Klaxons stumbled upon their hideout...

Roberto Spiralli, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:16 (eighteen years ago)

Gear or esoj

Hans Rott, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:17 (eighteen years ago)

haha unless jim is esoj, I can't really keep current

Hans Rott, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:17 (eighteen years ago)

No, this record invented new rave:

everything, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:19 (eighteen years ago)

no Hadouken!, no credibility

Spencer Chow, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:19 (eighteen years ago)

Forgetting which login you're on is a long, honourable ILX tradition.

Noodle Vague, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:24 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah sorry about that but I will take it into account when I count the votes up.

Ethan Gaymead, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:25 (eighteen years ago)

That was to Spencer Chow.

Ethan Gaymead, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:25 (eighteen years ago)

Anyway, Hadouken are more Grindie than New Rave really.

Ethan Gaymead, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:26 (eighteen years ago)

i wonder what ethan/robert thinks of blog house

cutty, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:26 (eighteen years ago)

Ethan Gaymead, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:27 (eighteen years ago)

It's apparently a genre.

Spencer Chow, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:28 (eighteen years ago)

Ethan you missed Lemon Spangle Orgasm and Polari Skipick from your list. Or are they more NWONR?

Billy Dods, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:39 (eighteen years ago)

I searched Myspace but neither of those bands exist. Do you have a link?

Ethan Gaymead, Friday, 20 April 2007 17:40 (eighteen years ago)
