No Super Roots?

filthy dylan, Friday, 20 April 2007 21:13 (eighteen years ago)

Otherwise it's a toss up between Super AE, Vision Creation Newsun and Chocolate Synthesizer.

filthy dylan, Friday, 20 April 2007 21:13 (eighteen years ago)

i vot for choco snyth. but, i bet VCN is gonna win.

Catsupppppppppppppp dude ‫茄蕃‪, Friday, 20 April 2007 21:30 (eighteen years ago)

sd'99 I think is also a complete reedit. Much like Osorezon No Stooges Kyo is a hanatarash style tape cut up of Boretronix material

oops I left the boretronix tapes off :(

Catsupppppppppppppp dude ‫茄蕃‪, Friday, 20 April 2007 21:34 (eighteen years ago)

I think they're collected piecemeal on sd + early boredoms and onanie bomb though

Catsupppppppppppppp dude ‫茄蕃‪, Friday, 20 April 2007 21:34 (eighteen years ago)

sexyDancer: did you also know that SD99 + Pop Tatari and (maybe) Chocolate Synthesizer have (some) different mixes, tracklistings and trackordering for different markets {USA,UK,JP} (cf the fall)

Catsupppppppppppppp dude ‫茄蕃‪, Friday, 20 April 2007 21:35 (eighteen years ago)

yeah I have the jap Pop Tatari ... it's pretty different -- has a big slice of silence in the middle to great effect

sexyDancer, Friday, 20 April 2007 21:37 (eighteen years ago)

I have that too. The reissues may be even different mixes too, but I have no idea

Catsupppppppppppppp dude ‫茄蕃‪, Friday, 20 April 2007 21:40 (eighteen years ago)

Also awesome is the silence with the discman beep in it on SR6

Catsupppppppppppppp dude ‫茄蕃‪, Friday, 20 April 2007 21:43 (eighteen years ago)

I imagine that track being people trying to fall asleep playing with their discmans headphones on.

Catsupppppppppppppp dude ‫茄蕃‪, Friday, 20 April 2007 21:43 (eighteen years ago)

Also rad = curse word bleeping using sounds from noise ramones on one of the rebores

Catsupppppppppppppp dude ‫茄蕃‪, Friday, 20 April 2007 21:44 (eighteen years ago)

My vote went to Onanie Bomb. It was the first Boredoms I ever heard and impacted me the most.

Jack Burton, Friday, 20 April 2007 22:58 (eighteen years ago)

EKEK

JW, Saturday, 21 April 2007 01:28 (eighteen years ago)

i always thought of the beep as being like a casio watch. track 3 is my favourite, it's like.. spiritual or some shit. smokers delight. is it true that sr6 was recorded with the band laying on its back? how did they play drums.

creme1, Saturday, 21 April 2007 01:31 (eighteen years ago)

That's the story I heard. Also recorded in the dark

JW, Saturday, 21 April 2007 01:32 (eighteen years ago)

i've seen photographs of seichi yamamoto on his back in a studio, i don't know if it's those sessions or anything. i'll try and find them.

creme1, Saturday, 21 April 2007 01:33 (eighteen years ago)

np: sr6 (6)

creme1, Saturday, 21 April 2007 01:34 (eighteen years ago)

is it gamelan on this or just like a wind chime or something?

creme1, Saturday, 21 April 2007 01:34 (eighteen years ago)

there'ss the detuned guitar. i think just random weird chimes behind it

JW, Saturday, 21 April 2007 01:36 (eighteen years ago)

speaking of yamamoto can anyone tell me about omoide hatoba?

creme1, Saturday, 21 April 2007 01:36 (eighteen years ago)

np: super go!!!!! (single)

creme1, Saturday, 21 April 2007 01:45 (eighteen years ago)

man yoshimi's vocal is much better in this version.

creme1, Saturday, 21 April 2007 01:48 (eighteen years ago)

there's trippier stereo effects as well. shineSHINEONshineonSHINEshiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiineSHINEshiSHIshineON

creme1, Saturday, 21 April 2007 01:51 (eighteen years ago)

think i prefer the super ae version actually, the guitar at the end goes on for longer.

creme1, Saturday, 21 April 2007 02:05 (eighteen years ago)

Super Æ, but mainly cos Super Roots 7 isn't on the list. I need to listen to Chocolate Synthesizer.

Scik Mouthy, Saturday, 21 April 2007 06:06 (eighteen years ago)

i've listened to super æ so much that i can hear the edits

JW, Saturday, 21 April 2007 06:48 (eighteen years ago)

Again none.

JN$OT, Saturday, 21 April 2007 07:25 (eighteen years ago)

I'm voting Seadrum cos it's underloved.

Noodle Vague, Saturday, 21 April 2007 11:13 (eighteen years ago)

anyone listening to boredoms right now?

creme1, Monday, 23 April 2007 04:01 (eighteen years ago)

super go!!!!! single is the best thing they ever did

creme1, Monday, 23 April 2007 04:11 (eighteen years ago)

my vote goes to REEEEEEEEBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEE

moonship journey to baja, Monday, 23 April 2007 04:32 (eighteen years ago)

HA!
i was right. and choco synth only 4 votes?...weak.

funny farm, Monday, 23 April 2007 04:49 (eighteen years ago)

Seadrum is amazing, a perfect thing. But VCN and Super AE are the ones.

Mister Craig, Monday, 23 April 2007 06:40 (eighteen years ago)

Guess I missed this one. Would've voted for VCN. Seadrum/House of Sun would've been better sans the "House of Sun" song. Close call between VCN and Super AE, with Chocolate Synthesizer right behind...

novaheat, Monday, 23 April 2007 08:30 (eighteen years ago)

FWIW, I think Pop Tatari is way better than Chocolate Synth

JW, Monday, 23 April 2007 12:39 (eighteen years ago)

I only just realized how much parts of VCN remind me of the Metroid II theme music

bernard snowy, Monday, 23 April 2007 13:54 (eighteen years ago)

ysi the theme

Catsupppppppppppppp dude ‫茄蕃‪, Monday, 23 April 2007 15:05 (eighteen years ago)

The only way to listen to the second half of VCN is to get pooped somewhere around SPIRAL and then doze. I came home from work and did this. Awesome

JW, Monday, 23 April 2007 23:15 (eighteen years ago)

hah, i have done that a good half dozen times!

ryan, Monday, 23 April 2007 23:51 (eighteen years ago)

Also sex

JW, Monday, 23 April 2007 23:54 (eighteen years ago)

I'm really surprised VCN won over Super AE. I mean, I like it better too, but I thought general consensus said otherwise.

These polls are getting very interesting actually.

the next grozart, Tuesday, 24 April 2007 00:23 (eighteen years ago)

I wager that it might have been Ralph Nadered
