I'm surprised I know more than 1 of these! I'm going for Sale Of The Century.

the next grozart, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 11:31 (eighteen years ago)

Recommendation: Only one poll per day per user.

blueski, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 11:31 (eighteen years ago)

hmm, make that per week

blueski, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 11:32 (eighteen years ago)

bring back calum

That one guy that quit, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 11:34 (eighteen years ago)

Recommendation: anything relating to Sleeper deleted on sight.

Noodle Vague, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 11:34 (eighteen years ago)

Cue Louise Wener on why being in a shit indie band is a feminist statement.

Noodle Vague, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 11:36 (eighteen years ago)

It was meant to be vaguely funny, but ..

The stone roses one was my first poll.

I don't intend to start any others.

Mark G, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 11:36 (eighteen years ago)

i made another post but someone eated it.

That one guy that quit, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 11:37 (eighteen years ago)

it was about the shamelessness of 'delicious' and 'swallow'.

That one guy that quit, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 11:40 (eighteen years ago)

(I actually quite like(d) Delicious and Swallow... I'll get my coat...)

Colonel Poo, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 11:43 (eighteen years ago)

what was that horribly descriptive track on "Smart"? Track 5? About a horrible fat man. I remember finding it so disgusting I sold the album.

the next grozart, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 11:48 (eighteen years ago)

People still have opinions about Sleeper?

chap, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 11:49 (eighteen years ago)

NOPE!!

the next grozart, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 11:51 (eighteen years ago)

I still fucking love the It Girl, 11 or whatever years later.

Finefinemusic, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 14:06 (eighteen years ago)

Hi Calum

Noodle Vague, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 14:07 (eighteen years ago)

"Sale Of The Century" was a GREAT pop song.

Geir Hongro, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 14:14 (eighteen years ago)

I'm with Geir!

Alba, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 14:17 (eighteen years ago)

I want a t-shirt with that slogan.

Noodle Vague, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 14:19 (eighteen years ago)

And, mind you, generally, I am not claiming Sleeper will be among the most fondly remembered of the Britpop acts. But they did have a couple nice single moments.

Geir Hongro, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 14:19 (eighteen years ago)

the best moments were the first five seconds of each single. They'd always have a really interesting couple of bars played on a keyboard before the actual song came in.

the next grozart, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 14:21 (eighteen years ago)

I remember the single mix of "Vegas" being my first experience in "Man, the single mix sure is WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY better than the album"-dom.

jamescobo, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 14:57 (eighteen years ago)

jamescobo OTM

She hasn't aged well.

Dom Passantino, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 15:01 (eighteen years ago)

She looks like half Davina McCall, half Corr there.

Dom Passantino, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 15:02 (eighteen years ago)

She looks a lot better I think.

the next grozart, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 15:03 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah I think she still looks fit.

Homeboy on the left looks like he has some dark secrets.

Dom Passantino, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 15:06 (eighteen years ago)

All the blokes look kind of shifty. The one on the right looks like a cerebral palsy Pete Doherty.

chap, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 15:08 (eighteen years ago)

He's in Sleeper, isn't that dark enough?

Noodle Vague, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 15:09 (eighteen years ago)

I still fucking love the It Girl, 11 or whatever years later.

Hi Calum

-- Noodle Vague, Wednesday, April 25, 2007 9:07 AM (1 hour ago)

I'm a chick! I have to say this isn't the first time I've been called Calum. Apparently he and I are the only Britpop kids who have ever posted here. ;)

Finefinemusic, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 15:22 (eighteen years ago)

Actually we are all Britpop kids in severe self-denial...

Marcello Carlin, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 15:24 (eighteen years ago)

Actually I kinded of hated Sleeper and the excellence of Sale Of The Century was inconvenient to my world view.

Alba, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 15:26 (eighteen years ago)

I hate sleeper but wasn't it Alice In Vain was the song name?

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 15:28 (eighteen years ago)

i'm picking delicious cos i seem to remember its lyrics were funny.

also, lol @ alice in chains!

CharlieNo4, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 15:28 (eighteen years ago)

oops

CharlieNo4, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 15:29 (eighteen years ago)

All the blokes look kind of shifty. The one on the right looks like a cerebral palsy Pete Doherty.

i think they were all fucking each other.

That one guy that quit, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 16:04 (eighteen years ago)

Gay sex gives you cerebral palsy?

Dom Passantino, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 16:05 (eighteen years ago)

C. Grisso/McCain, Wednesday, 25 April 2007 16:56 (eighteen years ago)

so when's this end? I forget.

Mark G, Thursday, 26 April 2007 10:53 (eighteen years ago)

Tomorrow, along with at least six other active polls.

blueski, Thursday, 26 April 2007 10:59 (eighteen years ago)

Runaway winner zzz.

Mark G, Friday, 27 April 2007 09:13 (eighteen years ago)

I'm surprised Inbetweener wasn't more popular, it was the only one I remembered till I saw the list.

the next grozart, Friday, 27 April 2007 09:40 (eighteen years ago)

A deserved win :)

Geir Hongro, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 09:33 (eighteen years ago)

three years pass...

Was there ever a band whose stock diminished so rapidly? I remember Steve Lamacq saying that he would play a Sleeper record if anyone phoned in with a good reason to do so. Of course, no-one did.

Grandpont Genie, Monday, 1 November 2010 18:30 (fifteen years ago)

they're my new favourite band

only! assholes! write on doors! (Drugs A. Money), Monday, 1 November 2010 18:39 (fifteen years ago)

vote for "Sale of the Century" in this years ILX POLL of the CENTURY!

only! assholes! write on doors! (Drugs A. Money), Monday, 1 November 2010 18:40 (fifteen years ago)

Their initial singles were great but when they re-recorded them for "Smart" they lost something. Of course I think "The It Girl" is even better, and then their last album is totally unmemorable.

Gerald McBoing-Boing, Monday, 1 November 2010 18:48 (fifteen years ago)

ten months pass...

I still fucking love this band, the It Girl is my constant jam and Delicious is shining through my headphones right now.

I see now I already told this thread that, and got called Calum for it. hah.
