only W, X, Y and Z to go then!

Mark G, Thursday, 26 April 2007 11:08 (eighteen years ago)

Were "C", "G", "I" etc live albums?

Mark G, Thursday, 26 April 2007 11:08 (eighteen years ago)

Well, I could always do a Gangway, Brad Jones or Merrymakers poll.. :)

Geir Hongro, Thursday, 26 April 2007 11:09 (eighteen years ago)

Charlie's been cheating lately. Submission was a best of, and Timewarp and Violent State are just rerecordings of old songs and covers! Universal is the only proper new album in the last 10 years. I suppose he is like 80 years old now.

Colonel Poo, Thursday, 26 April 2007 11:09 (eighteen years ago)

And yes, C, G, I etc were live albums.

Colonel Poo, Thursday, 26 April 2007 11:10 (eighteen years ago)

Well, he'd better get a leg on then.

Geir: You mean, you're holding yourself back?

Mark G, Thursday, 26 April 2007 11:16 (eighteen years ago)

The first one for me, Colonel. But Brand New Age is grebt too. I don't think I'v heard anything after the 3rd album.

Dr.C, Thursday, 26 April 2007 12:20 (eighteen years ago)

The 3rd album is a bit weak. 4th album is much better. Rest of the 80s albums are mediocre. Mad Cow Fever is all covers and pretty rubbish. Then they picked up a bit again in the mid 90s. Of course there is next to zero musical progression from their early stuff, apart from a slightly more 90s sounding production, but that's why I like them.

[i]"And yes, C, G, I etc were live albums."{/i]

As was L (Left For Dead) obv.; but which ones officially were P and S? Peel Sessions and Sub Mission?

Stewart Osborne, Thursday, 26 April 2007 21:00 (eighteen years ago)

I'm not sure about P. It's either Peel Sessions or Punk Rock Rarities, I'd say. Pretty sure S is Submission because that came out between Riot and Timewarp.

C is Crash Course, G is Gross Out USA and I is In Action, right?

Colonel Poo, Thursday, 26 April 2007 21:05 (eighteen years ago)

I would have assumed so.

The old sod's only just 63 btw - it was his birthday yesterday in fact!

Stewart Osborne, Thursday, 26 April 2007 21:16 (eighteen years ago)

What do we reckon W, X, Y and Z are going to be called?

Someone's already nicked World War (actually a re-release of the old Live Kicks).

My money's on Zero Tolerance as the title for the last one.

He's going to have to pull his finger out of he's going to get four more official release out there before he starts collecting his pension anyway.

Stewart Osborne, Thursday, 26 April 2007 21:24 (eighteen years ago)

I'm listening to Killing Time, from 1989, this morning - it's a lot better than the other late 80s albums.

Still, unless you're a diehard fan, I'd stick with Another Kind Of Blues, Brand New Age, Riot, Endangered Species and Quintessentials as their top 5.
