im not really an indie kid so no idea why i keep making these threads but i thought this one seemed kinda apt
both released 'big' sounding second albums
both thought to be conduits (of a sort) for 'the times we live in' and have been praised for their channelling of the tumultous political climate without being explicit (or woefully clunky and pussified like bloc party) about it
lastly, when i hear both their last albums, i hear a kind of sensual uplift in them which i really like

Arcade Fire. Don't really see the point of the other lot.

Return to Cookie Mountain > Neon Bible, but Arcade Fire > TVotR

TVotR, because they don't sound like Coldplay with more instruments and worse tunes.

The Reverend, Monday, 30 April 2007 15:35 (eighteen years ago)

TVotR - you know, AR Kane did it so much better.

Marcello Carlin, Monday, 30 April 2007 15:36 (eighteen years ago)

I've never bought that type of argument.

The Reverend, Monday, 30 April 2007 15:40 (eighteen years ago)

I mean the "x sucks because y does it better" argument, to be clear.

The Reverend, Monday, 30 April 2007 15:41 (eighteen years ago)

I'm not a massive TVotR fan, but for me they win by a million miles. Just "Satellite" off Young Liars justifies their superiority for me.

TVotR are better than A.R Kane, probably. And I really like "i".

ar kane were no colourbox

Anyway, there's only room for one "TV On The Radio" around these parts:
