Is there an act that everybody on ILM dislikes?

OK, sort of the opposite of the old threads where ILM'ers are trying to find the act that all of ILM likes. So, how about doing the opposite?

So, are there any Celine Dion fans in here?
Michael Bolton?
Il Divo?

Geir Hongro, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 00:04 (eighteen years ago)

no. 1, geir i love how you're pounding these threads out.

no. 2, no, i think it would take me like a month to get an answer to this question.

no. 3, i like celine's french songs. J'ai Besoin D'un Homme is really good.

Surmounter, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 00:06 (eighteen years ago)

Nickelback.

Jeff Treppel, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 00:07 (eighteen years ago)

If there were a band called Godsmack You Black Emperor! would anyone like them?

ellaguru, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 00:11 (eighteen years ago)

Did we ever turn up any fans of those two little nazi girl folk singers? That'd be my best guess.

dlp9001, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 01:07 (eighteen years ago)

Scott and Chuck like Crazy Town, so not that group... any Deadsy fans out there?

Jeff Treppel, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 01:15 (eighteen years ago)

nazi girl folk singers??

Surmounter, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 01:25 (eighteen years ago)

11 year old nazi girl folk singers at that

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 01:26 (eighteen years ago)

Creed must win. Surely no one likes them?
A few DMB fans turned up.

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 01:26 (eighteen years ago)

Bit to beat dead horses, but Hinder, surely?

The Reverend, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 01:27 (eighteen years ago)

err.

NOT to beat dead horses...

The Reverend, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 01:27 (eighteen years ago)

but were the dmb supporters actual ILM posters, or irate googling dave fans?

along with hinder, does anyone like the fray? i hope not.

oh yeah, and let's not forget limp bizkit and papa roach.

Emily Bjurnhjam, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 01:50 (eighteen years ago)

I don't really like DMB but find them mildly defensible.

Hurting 2, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 01:51 (eighteen years ago)

would anybody here stand up for rascal flatts?

fact checking cuz, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 01:52 (eighteen years ago)

I like DMB.

Mordechai Shinefield, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 01:55 (eighteen years ago)

(x-post to myself) scratch that. i just found two positive mentions of rascal flatts by xhuxk on the 2006 rolling country thread.

fact checking cuz, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 01:55 (eighteen years ago)

If I remember correctly, there is at least one crazed ILM hinder fan. And lots of people here, including me, will say The Fray's "Over My Head (Cable Car)" is brilliant.

danzig, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 02:02 (eighteen years ago)

I like that first single by the Fray. The second one is ok.

Tape Store, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 02:03 (eighteen years ago)

Surely .... not .... Kenny G?

dad a, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 02:24 (eighteen years ago)

O.A.R. (I hope)

Tape Store, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 02:28 (eighteen years ago)

The Dave Matthews Band have a couple amazing songs. "Two Step." "Lie in Our Graves."

Mr. Snrub, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 02:34 (eighteen years ago)

Kenny G's music is waayyyy too mild to hate. It's background music!

Mr. Snrub, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 02:35 (eighteen years ago)

I love Kenny G. Waaaay more satanic than Burzum, makes Varg look like a little Christian boy.

moley, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 02:37 (eighteen years ago)

AHAHAHAHAHA

Tape Store, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 02:49 (eighteen years ago)

Limp Bizkit?
Kid Rock?

poortheatre, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 03:11 (eighteen years ago)

Love Limp Bizkit. Love Kid Rock. Hmmm, this is going to be difficult.

There must be some bescarved stripey shirted rich kid band with afros making scratchy pseudo-posh indie music that draws the general wrath of all and sundry...? How about Wolfmother?

moley, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 03:19 (eighteen years ago)

I actually like Rascall Flatts! A lot!

forksclovetofu, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 03:23 (eighteen years ago)

it's gotta be creed. who likes creed? they are so icky.

scott seward, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 03:24 (eighteen years ago)

n e 1 leik teh Dandy Warhols?

wanko ergo sum, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 03:25 (eighteen years ago)

I hate Creed. The Dandies had their moments.

moley, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 03:26 (eighteen years ago)

I'd go with Creed or Nickleback or Jars of Clay or Guerilla Black.

forksclovetofu, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 03:29 (eighteen years ago)

ok maybe creed.

dandy warhols had that song about kim deal so i can't like hate em

Surmounter, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 03:33 (eighteen years ago)

the junkie song was good too. yeah, there are reasons to like the dandy warhols.

scott seward, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 03:37 (eighteen years ago)

ANYONE OUT THERE LIKE CREED?

moley, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 04:03 (eighteen years ago)

I really like some Wolfmother.

Sundar, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 04:08 (eighteen years ago)

quick, decide on her before the lex wakes up

félix pié, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 04:45 (eighteen years ago)

I'll stand up for Hilton; I enjoy a few tracks off her album.

Tape Store, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 04:52 (eighteen years ago)

No way you'll get consensus on Paris. Creed... maybe. But someone out there has got to be willing to speak up for them...

I kinda-almost liked that "Hello my friends we meet again / It's been a long time where should we begin" song, but not enough to stump for the group.

Mordechai Shinefield, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 05:06 (eighteen years ago)

Dunno. I despise them because they sound like Pearl Jam. I.o.w. I despise Pearl Jam just as much as I despise Creed.

-- Geir Hongro (geirhon...), August 29th, 2003.

What do you know about music Geir Hongro? Nothing probably. Creed sound NOTHING like Pearl Jam. Pearl Jam havent made a decent album in 10 years for a start. Creed make hi quality melodic hard rock with great spiritual lyrics. They are also awesome live, as anyone who has ever seen them live will testify. When you have heard all their albums and seen them live Geir Hongro then you will be qualified to judge them.

félix pié, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 05:36 (eighteen years ago)

OK, so Creed is off the menu too. How about Insane Clown Posse?

moley, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 05:38 (eighteen years ago)

tee hee xpost
And lots of people here, including me, will say The Fray's "Over My Head (Cable Car)" is brilliant.

gosh I love this song.

tremendoid, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 05:40 (eighteen years ago)

the creed issue sorta underlines why this won't work:

1)- ILM is an open community, so ANYONE can be on ILM
2)- It's unlikely that any band most of us have heard of is not going to have at least one fan willing to stand up for them
3)- ?
4)- Profit

A better way to phrase this is: "is there an act that all of the regulars on ILM dislikes?" and I think Creed and Nickleback are easy wins with that header.

forksclovetofu, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 05:44 (eighteen years ago)

ICP !!!!! ahahahhaha

earinfections, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 05:51 (eighteen years ago)

3)- ?
4)- Profit

lists that end this way will never get old. (srsly)

Senator Orrin Hatch and his copyright-lovin' real-audio samples.

bendy, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 20:45 (eighteen years ago)

Barenaked Ladies were OK. Much better than all those acts that tried to ape Pearl Jam.

Geir, I know you don't get this much, but RAISE YOUR STANDARDS, MAN!

Curt1s Stephens, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 20:46 (eighteen years ago)

I seem to recall that PB's music wasn't that very bad.

Haha you recall incorrectly. Wasn't it just two girls not-harmonizing Kipling poems over a strummed acoustic guitar?

Curt1s Stephens, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 20:47 (eighteen years ago)

wait, never mind, that sounds awesome

Curt1s Stephens, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 20:47 (eighteen years ago)

Nobody's contradicted "Il Divo" yet. If the people who didn't know them heard them, i think we could have a winner.

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 21:06 (eighteen years ago)

Bands mentioned as possibilities on this thread whom I actually do not dislike:

Kid Rock
The Dandy Warhols
Wolfmother
Billy Joey (some)
Carcass (fucking rules!)

Anyone else mentioned, fuck them.

NYCNative, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 21:47 (eighteen years ago)

I like Fast Food Rockers. They're evil. I don't mind some Barenaked Ladies. But maybe CocoRosie is a good candidate.

moley, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 21:49 (eighteen years ago)

I quite like Dandy Warhols and quite a bit of Billy Joel too. "The Stranger" and "Welcome To The Monkey House" were great albums.

Geir Hongro, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 21:54 (eighteen years ago)

Has anyone expressed love for Michael Bolton yet?

Geir Hongro, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 21:56 (eighteen years ago)

Kid Rock is the worst thing on the whole fucking planet.

Curt1s Stephens, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 21:56 (eighteen years ago)

Any Vanilla Ice fans here?

Geir Hongro, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 22:11 (eighteen years ago)

kid was pretty fun! i wish i woulda got more into him when he was big.

M@tt He1ges0n, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 22:14 (eighteen years ago)

ANYBODY like Bolton? That might be a winner; all his fans are computerless.

forksclovetofu, Wednesday, 2 May 2007 22:16 (eighteen years ago)

I enjoy "How can we be lovers". Specifically the part where he goes "We can work it out!" and there's the key-change :z

yeah i wasn't going to say anything but i like(d) "love is a wonderful thing"

Johnny Cash

if only it were that easy. you know some weirdo likes westlife.
you just *shudder* know it.

Frogman Henry, Thursday, 3 May 2007 12:06 (eighteen years ago)

i think someone might chime in liking a specific westlife song but still actually dislike them for their crimes as a whole.

so "do you dislike westlife" might stand some chance of unanimousity.
