Overrun, I don't know. But I wish someone would run over Holly Valance and Powderfinger.

I am Australian. The following Australians should die and burn: Powderfinger, silverchair, Alex Lloyd. The following are gods: Avalanches, Dirty Three.

What about The Church? Does their past save them from the impending steamroller in the Elsenor Asylum?

Any fule kno good Aussie music begins and ends with Even As We Speak. Anyone know if they're still going? They put out a "comeback" single a couple of years ago, then ... silence again.

Jeff W, Tuesday, 16 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The Church are forever glorious. There.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 16 April 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am supporting Even As We Speak in two weeks' time.. so they appear to have reformed. The upcoming CD is all old stuff though IIRC

There are more fantastic bands in Australia you haven't heard of than you can possibly imagine. The Vines do not count among their ranks.

Upcoming CD? *Gibbers* Yes, their website's been revived and I just put myself back on their mailing list.

More generally, this looks like a good site for all things Aussie.

Hey, Powerderfinger were once nifty before they released the same album thrice. I still like 'JC', damnit, and their live act is fun.

*ducks*
