the Pearl Jam idea of massive bootleg releases.

is it a novel idea to release a cd for all your tour dates or is it pointless? would a band like Phish be more suited for this idea or would we get 400 cd's from them a year?

It's the ultimate way to keep people from stealing your stuff; the problem is, the 400 tour dates released officially are disguised as a 'gift for the fans,' that is to say, the band wants everyone to be able to sample their crowd-pleasing onstage shenanigans... when all they're doing is beating the bootlegger to the punch.

That's ironic...

It's a fucking tragedy, that's what it is...

It's the idea of a flaming retard, so then I guess Phish would be more suited to it.

Montreal is out this week, should I be excited?

Brilliant. We all knew the pop-music of the future would add more to a single band's catalog than we would ever own. Tomorrow is here today.

Possibly the modern equiv. of the 10 disc Jerry Lee Lewis box.

Has anybody got Merzbox?

Tom, Tuesday, 10 April 2001 00:00 (twenty-four years ago)

in the context of merzbau, merzbox is as as parsimoniously selective as green gartside's release schedule

HAS anyone got it? Are the people who have it (and listen) able to write in a language you or I cd understand?

(Psychic TV put out a great slooch of 25-odd live LPs once: and hey, I have maybe 15 — so ashz nazgh gûlbutala khrazhkls wpîlrhos volvator to you. Ditto King Crimson; The Great Deceiver 4-CD set. I do not believe Pearl Jam "came up" with this idea on their own.)

I was actually tempted to buy the _Merzbox_ on initial release. But funds and all.

"Flaming retard" -- it does rather explain Eddie Vedder these days. Who the hell is their fanbase now anyway? They kept packing in places, so someone must go.

It's obnoxious as hell. I would hope it would turn off their stupid fans, but I doubt it will. There's nothing worse than seeing an entire section at the record store filled with that crap. How many live versions of the same songs do they think anyone would want? I bet they think farting on tape would be casting pearls before swine. I didn't realize that "where oh where could my baby be" song was a remake of some old tune. I like the old tune better, big surprise.

I can understand Edwin Pouncey's language. Mostly. How much did the Merzbox cost, anyway?

The irritation of non-fans of P-Jam must have been nothing as to the irritation of record shop staff, stockists etc. etc. "Oi! I came in here to buy Pearl Jam live in Tallinn and this is the second Gdansk date!" etc.

Has anyone got the domain name eddievedderisacunt.com yet?
