I can't find anything in English on this guy, but the stuff I've heard (AR3, I think?) is amazing - anybody know what the deal is...?

he was a dude. made some records. the stuff he made in the 60's was really cool. he was a Rattle! the stuff he made in the 70's even cooler. echo being the most famous most nursewithwoundlist-ish. and my fave too. aceeeeeeeeeeeeeed!

the two reissues are essential in my book. die gruene reise/erholung and echo/IV, that is. now if they'd just do III and autovision as a twofer.

also highly recommended if you like stoopid 70s glamcockrock - PROPELLER, which he played guitar, bass and sang for (it was post-wonderland band, which i think was post-rattles). gratuitous!

I've only heard "Die Grune Reise", and that is quite amazing in places, very electronic sounding altho it's all guitars, brilliant for 1971! He also does some silly kind of boogie/blues and pop stuff on it tho, even then I appreciate that he's trying not to be all po-faced about things pity about the last track however!

one year passes...

"as if i had seen all this before" is pretty much the best song ever

Die Grune Reise is sick .... lots better than Echo imo although I guess it depends on if you want the most rockinout-ish or most droney nursewithwoundlist-ish as skot put it

some of the Rattles stuff is real cool too ... I've just heard scattered mp3s

damn that is some scary jeff. airplane shit. i had no idea. is that reichel on guitar?

kamerad, Tuesday, 24 February 2009 01:23 (sixteen years ago)

rattles album has some pretty rockin' tunes on it.

i was listening to consumed by plastikman and fell asleep and woke up with it still on, thinking it was a.r. & machines.

just FYI.

"The Witch" is awesome.
If I remember well even the b-side of this single was jaw dropping.

Marco Damiani, Tuesday, 24 February 2009 09:20 (sixteen years ago)

Reichel had left them by the time of "The Witch"... I think?
