Dionne Warwick just barely edging out Steely Dan

J0hn D., Friday, 4 May 2007 14:59 (eighteen years ago)

The ones I played the most back then: Psychomodo, Siren and The Tubes. Lotsa good ones there, but I'm going with Another Green World.

Dan Peterson, Friday, 4 May 2007 15:16 (eighteen years ago)

haha I love the shortlist for this one

Since I'm on a KC & the Sunshine Band tip today, them

Funkadelic, with Led Zep and the Dictators close behind. (Agharta) was '76, right?)

Myonga Vön Bontee, Friday, 4 May 2007 18:39 (eighteen years ago)

TNT. Why not?

I voted for Young Americans...

...which is definitely not the *best* album on here -- in fact, I would say that Blood on the Tracks, Another Green World, Radio-Activity, Siren, and the gorgeous Evening Star are better albums, all things considered -- but I listened to Young Americans this morning and loved it, so it gets the edge today :)

I hope someone votes Fatback band and The Blackbyrds but my vote had to go to Funkadelic.

I love that Talley. Makes up for not really doing anything unique by being comforting af and zero filler

still have to go with the self-titled

k3vin k., Thursday, 24 October 2019 02:55 (five years ago)

^ can't wait to reuse this thread title when they've put out enough albums that we can poll them

Vinnie, Thursday, 24 October 2019 03:01 (five years ago)

Funny how some of these polls resurface and 12 years later I can't recall why I voted what I did. Choosing Another Green World over Siren just doesn't sound like something I'd say or believe.

A breezy pop-rock feel fairly typical of the mid-'80s (Dan Peterson), Thursday, 24 October 2019 15:16 (five years ago)
