What are some really good peace punk bands? Bands that are maybe vegitarian or vegan, anti-racist, against like homophobia and are not chaos punks. When I say good I mean like good punk, hardcore, crust etc....

Hold on to what you try to be
Your in-di-vi-du-al-i-ty
When the world is on your shoulders
Just smile and let it go
If people try to put you down
Just walk on by don't turn around
You only have to answer to yourself.
Don't you know it's true what they say
That life, it ain't easy
But your time's coming around
So don't you stop tryin'.
Don't stop, never give up
Hold your head high and reach the top
Let the world see what you have got
Bring it all back to you
Dream of falling in love
Anything you've been thinking of
When the world seems to get too tough
Bring it all back to you.

Propaganhdi are so left wing its hard to take them serious, they've become cartoons. Weakerthans, a splinter from Propagandhi, are less punk but also less annoying even if they demand insane garentees.

This is what a lot (most?) of the "first wave of emo" bands thought we were at the time. So, Thorns.

Anton Bordman, from Providence. First 7" available from Moganono Records (moganono.tripo.com) and the second from Clean Place (www.cleanplate.com, I think, but am not sure.)

Reversal of Man, from Florida.

Palatka, also from Florida. Records for both of the Floridian bands can be ordered from www.noidearecords.com.

(All of those bands are fairly more hardcore than punk, I guess--but it's a silly distinction between the two.)

North Of America might count as punk, I still call them mathrawk but some out there would call them that three letter genre commonly attached to makeoutcub.

The Epileptics / Flux Of Pink Indians, Zounds, The Subhumans (the UK ones as opposed to the Canadians), Rudimentary Peni and most of all The Mob are all very much worth checking out.

Possibly not what you're looking for musically, but Chumbawamba are / were also very much part of that scene.
