Recently my fav Marshall Jefferson discovery is Underground Repairs "Stay in the Life". Cloudy pads whisper away over vampy "Sueno Latino" style pianos and a Roy Davis Jnr disco bassline, all underpinned by the most masterfully programmed drum fills and cymbal crashes - just so tastefully deep in the best possible way.

I always loved him. 'house music anthem' was my fav early house song of all early house songs

I don't think I fully realized how many of my fav early house songs he was actually responsible for, IE that he produced "video clash" and lil louis put out the edit under his own name. or that he did the jungle wonz stuff, or 'it's alright' by sterling void, plus of course the biggest Ten City songs, and then he had a crazy run in the 90s which culminates in this bonkers "Animals EP" with
