I couldn't find a thread for these guys. A friend hipped me to Summer in college and I enjoyed it but sort of forgot about them subsequently.

I recently noticed their small-label debut had surfaced on eMusic and man is it fantastic - one of the best math rock records I've heard. Jim Theodore's drumming is what really makes it swing (dude from Mars Volta, Trans Am, etc.) but great riffage in a similar vein to Fucking Champs, Oxes, etc.

five years pass...

been listening to the third extra golden record lately ("thank you very quickly") seems to jel in a way the first two didn't quite. Did they quit after that or are they still kicking around?

Unfortunately I don't think either incarnation of the band is kicking around...Extra Golden is one of the great lost bands of the 00s...saw them play and absolutely dazzling, giddy set at Pitchfork Festival some summer. Would love for them to be back in circulation...
