Anybody recommend any mexican/Latin sounding rock or rockabilly type stuff with some nice bongos/congas/other percussion, I've been listening to Joe Strummer And The Latino Rockabilly War - Trash City, and want more? Cheers.

Try the Blazers. Lots of timbales on some of that stuff. "Cumbia del Sol" is an all-time great party song.

Thanks for the recommendation, "Cumbia del Sol" was nice, but i wasn't feeling the other stuff, a bit too country and western for me. Anymore?

I gotcha -- I'm with ya on the Blazers.

Try the Arhoolie album Don Tosti's Pachuco Boogie. It's zoot suit music -- more jump blues than rockabilly, but it's great 1948-vintage stuff.

"Chicano Boogie" and "Mambo del Pachuco" and "El Tirili" and "Guisa Gacha" all have lots of tropical percussion. It's like Louis Jordan meets Xavier Cugat in East L.A.

Thread title made me think of The Plugz, who did 3 tracks on the Repo Man soundtrack including Hombre Secreto (Secret Agent Man).
