McCartney album hit by sales snag

Sir Paul is the first artist to release an original album through Starbucks
Hundreds of copies Sir Paul McCartney's latest album will not be eligible for the UK charts, the BBC has learned.

However, all the other sales through HMV, other shops and d/l sales will still count.

But wah! all those hundred sales! what to do?

um . . .. why won't it be eligible?

The Wayward Johnny B, Tuesday, 5 June 2007 12:09 (eighteen years ago)

Are MVE sales eligible?

Is there a world record attempt going on at the same time? "6 million people will hear it as they queue for a latte."

StanM, Tuesday, 5 June 2007 12:16 (eighteen years ago)

should've called it 'Joint Account Almost Empty'

I went to Starbucks the other day and they weren't playing this. Should I be worried?

Dom Passantino, Tuesday, 5 June 2007 12:19 (eighteen years ago)

If they're not playing it today, be very worried.

Just got an email that the new album is now available on eMusic.

Nice coup for them, at least PR-wise.

Jon Lewis, Tuesday, 5 June 2007 16:25 (eighteen years ago)

I thought it was going to be available *only* through Starbucks. I am disappointed. I don't suppose the chart ineligigigigigibilty is news to Sir Paul.

PJ Miller, Tuesday, 5 June 2007 17:00 (eighteen years ago)

I am beside myself about this important, yet disconcerting, news.

Bill Magill, Tuesday, 5 June 2007 18:10 (eighteen years ago)

When will the career of this legend find Wings again?

The Macallan 18 Year, Tuesday, 5 June 2007 18:36 (eighteen years ago)

Sir Paul, you are the Wings beneath my wind.
