This whole process reminds me of the first introductions in the late 80's /early 90's of many classic vinyl albums on CD. Minimal re-mastering, fairly shoddy presentation, and full-price charging.
Maybe once there is serious stereo equipment for CD-quality and beyond digital playback and storage, my feelings won't be so mixed.
