Psychic Nature of Being - I'm not Liching it

I read a somewhat raving review of this Lichens character in the latest Plan B (why they review a 2 year old record I'm not sure?), and it dropped a lot of things I like ie Black Dice, Richard Youngs etc...

So what am I missing here? Seems like it's far too cheap and easy to loop things up and make spacey sounds today, and this to me sounds like nothing more or less than a guy jamming around with his DL4 for half an hour, which is more fun when I do it myself. There must be more to experimental music than doing the same loop for 10 minutes + some Ry Cooder-riffs on heavy reverbed acoustic guitars?

I usually don't hate, don't know why this provoked me. The sun is shining.
