Help! all the speakers in my room are picking up radio frequencies and/or buzzing uncontrollably.

And I have no idea why. It was just my computer speakers at first; the problem could be temporarily solved by rearanging the cord, but now it's very problematic as these speakers are buzzing almost all the time and all the more often they're picking up radio frequencies somehow.

Furthermore, I think the problem has spread to my speakers hooked up to my turntables, is this a problem with grounding the decks/mixer? Should I replace the cheap stereo that they're hooked up to? The speakers are buzzing more than it ever has. This is driving me crazy and alas, this was the only place I could go, so any help would be very appreciated.

Sometimes people are drunk. Sometimes they're stoned. Sometimes people are drunk AND stoned. I'm so glad this isn't your problem.

Are your speakers shielded? Or are they cheap-o speakers (which would be why they aren't shielded)?

I don't think this would cause you to pick up radio frequencies, but I could be wrong.

Try getting shielded speaker wire.

In any case don't put the speakers by a radio alarm clock, computer, etc etc.

I switched the speakers and put in a new reciever on my turntables and that pretty much took care of that.

I will look into shielding though, also my speakers are next to my computer, so I'll try moving them around.

Thanks.

Haha, yes, lately I've been getting a lot of spanish radio. It sounds great when a song slowly fades out to fuzzy spanish call in shows or whatever.

This reminds me when My family had to turn the power off in our house once, and we picked up other people's phone signals and could (not that I did) listen to their conversations.

Are your turntable properly grounded? That is usually the issue if you can isolate the problem to just the turntables.
