This took a long time to put together. A group that is hard to keep track of, for sure.

Also, I do not like polls much, but.... with a group like this, it's nice to have a reference for what people think about certain releases over others. live your myth in grease...

This is fucking hard.

I have to think for a bit, but at this point, I'm of the mind that this is my top 5 in no particular order:
Circle Broken
Collective Imaginings...
Parallel Easters
Re: Mr. Fan
Letters from the Earth

the table is the table, Saturday, 16 June 2007 02:53 (eighteen years ago)

i only have sticks and stones... so that i guess, although i don't like it very much.

creme1, Saturday, 16 June 2007 03:23 (eighteen years ago)

i slsked my brains out of them when i first got slsk. and so i have 18 of those 26, in one form or another... uh, if anyone wants any of them, ask.

the table is the table, Saturday, 16 June 2007 03:29 (eighteen years ago)

A Tabu 2 pt 1 (LP)/A Tabu 2 pt 2 (LP)
Letters From The Serth (CD, Album)
Live At Ken's Electric Lake (2xLP)
The Birth Of Both Worlds (2xCD)
Sticks and Stones May Break My Bones But Names Will Never Hurt Me (CD)

that's my top five, not in order. i don't know how i'll vote, but i'm leaning towards ken's electric lake or birth of both worlds.

GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ, Sunday, 17 June 2007 06:11 (eighteen years ago)

i really like sticks and stones, too.

GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ, Sunday, 17 June 2007 06:11 (eighteen years ago)

Sticks and Stones might have one of my favorite NNCK tracks, but as an album it is not among my faves...

the table is the table, Sunday, 17 June 2007 15:54 (eighteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

ILX System, Wednesday, 20 June 2007 23:01 (eighteen years ago)

ME ME

river wolf, Thursday, 21 June 2007 01:29 (eighteen years ago)

which ones mr. wolf? i'm ready and willing to give freely.

also, intonomancy is a bit like sticks and stones for me: two of my favorite NNCK studio tracks, but as an album, it's a bit eh. Play Your Play and the title track are fucking killer, though.

the table is the table, Thursday, 21 June 2007 02:36 (eighteen years ago)

oh hey, gott punch, do you think you can up ken's electric lake? it's the only one i've never heard (except for some of those crazy 8"s)

the table is the table, Thursday, 21 June 2007 02:38 (eighteen years ago)

oh let's do sticks and stones

i'm not very familiar with them, so gimme anything really

river wolf, Thursday, 21 June 2007 03:56 (eighteen years ago)

oh hey, gott punch, do you think you can up ken's electric lake?

eep. i only have it on vinyl and don't really have a way to get it on the computer (my soundcard input is fucked and buzzy, or maybe it's a ground problem). sorry!

GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ, Thursday, 21 June 2007 04:04 (eighteen years ago)

I like Dutch money

filthy dylan, Thursday, 21 June 2007 04:56 (eighteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

ILX System, Thursday, 21 June 2007 23:01 (eighteen years ago)

I voted Qvaris but stick and stones nearly got it.

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy, Thursday, 21 June 2007 23:09 (eighteen years ago)

hey river wolf, sticks and stones will be up later tonight-- i'm upping it right now, but am going to the movies.

the table is the table, Thursday, 21 June 2007 23:37 (eighteen years ago)

dope, thanks duder

river wolf, Friday, 22 June 2007 00:24 (eighteen years ago)

Missed the vote but I'd go for Sticks&Stones which was the first one I heard and I played the hell out of it. Letters From The Serth is great too, I love the way it starts, that disorientated lumpy headache feeling. I like some of the different things they've done recently, Nine For Victor has some great dark parts and the Embryo record's good. So much I haven't heard on the list though.

ogmor, Friday, 22 June 2007 04:30 (eighteen years ago)

kl0pper, Saturday, 23 June 2007 08:22 (eighteen years ago)

If someone were to upload any of the more obscure releases, Parallel Easters, Ken's Electric Lake, Ever Borneo or anything then that'd just be swell

ogmor, Sunday, 24 June 2007 20:12 (eighteen years ago)

http://www.soundatone.com/

Ken's Electric Lake is getting reissued, which is cool 'cause that's a better one for sure. I think those other two can still be found pretty easily with a little work. Just check gemm or do some digging through online catalogs...

oo, Sunday, 24 June 2007 23:23 (eighteen years ago)

will up parallel easters cuz it is my fave later this evening-- sometime b/w 7-9 est.

the table is the table, Monday, 25 June 2007 12:14 (eighteen years ago)

Catsupppppppppppppp dude 茄蕃, Monday, 25 June 2007 13:26 (eighteen years ago)

GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ, Monday, 25 June 2007 13:55 (eighteen years ago)

N00d Ned = serious sales. NNCK were smart with this one, I've got my money ready.

ogmor, Monday, 25 June 2007 15:33 (eighteen years ago)

hey, parallel easters almost done. fyi: it is 233 MB, mostly because of there are two tracks of 30 minute or plus length....

the table is the table, Monday, 25 June 2007 23:20 (eighteen years ago)

hey ogmor and everyone else, here it is

Goose Bigelow, Fowl Gigolo (the table is the table), Wednesday, 18 January 2023 01:13 (three years ago)

The audience didn’t know what to do with us. We were such dicks. We didn’t have any contemporaries. I don’t remember us connecting with any other NYC band our age. Any other “experimental rock band” like The Tower Recordings would be treated with absolute contempt.

Can confirm they were dicks.
And I consider a few of them my friends. Some of them are very nice.
But it can't be emphasized enough how cool these guys thought they were.

ian, Wednesday, 18 January 2023 02:42 (three years ago)

(i don't listen to them as much as i did ten years ago but i do still have all their records which is saying... something, considering the amount of shit i've gotten rid of in the last 10 years)

ian, Wednesday, 18 January 2023 02:46 (three years ago)

always preferred JOMF! but enough of a fan that i still have copies of letters from the earth, serth, intonomancy, sticks and stones and parallel easter knocking around

still, if i ever try to describe something i did by quoting a cormac mccarthy passage, please take me out back and shoot me

the late great, Wednesday, 18 January 2023 03:40 (three years ago)
