So should I feel weird about listening to certain music that I guess could be considered kindof young music, cuz I'm like getting older? I mean, I always found it kept me young, in a comfortable place - not that I thought about that consciously. I mean I listen to this music cuz I love it -
how old do you have to be to have to stop listening to The Breeders?

I don't remember Vladimir Putin being in The Breeders.

so you were like seven when Pod came out?
I think you're ok.
― will, Tuesday, 19 June 2007 12:57 (eighteen years ago)
jesus was i 7? i only heard Pod when i was like 12 maybe (i think? way 2 long ago)... um i remember hearing Doe and wondering what the hell was happening
― Surmounter, Tuesday, 19 June 2007 13:00 (eighteen years ago)
I thought you have to be at least 27 to listen to the Breeders, you're actually ahead of schedule. If you have the opportunity to see any of the band members in person, make sure you mention how good they look for their age. That's what all the young whippersnappers watching Sonic Youth seem to do.
― mh, Tuesday, 19 June 2007 13:01 (eighteen years ago)
Did anybody here go to the yard sale where The Breeders were signing autographs?
― Billy Dods, Tuesday, 19 June 2007 13:04 (eighteen years ago)
hahaha
wait REALLY? 27 and up u think? why is that?
i guess, see my stepdad let me in on them when i was young and he was still trying to be young, so i had that advantage
then i got into Belly, funnily, not b/c of the tanya connection, but because i liked the cover of Star... i was impressionable at that age.
WHAT YARD SALE
― Surmounter, Tuesday, 19 June 2007 13:05 (eighteen years ago)
This is an issue for me. I'm about twice Surmounter's age, and I really liked Cansei de Ser Sexy.

Wait 'til you start to see 25th and 30th Anniversary Deluxe Editions of albums you remember buying when they first came out, then you can come to me for sympathy.
Except that by then (if I'm still paying attention) they'll probably be bringing out the 45th and 50th Anniversary Deluxe Editions of albums I remember buying when they first came out.
― Stewart Osborne, Tuesday, 19 June 2007 15:47 (eighteen years ago)
The 10th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of Endtroducing by DJ Shadow certainly made me feel old.
― Marcello Carlin, Tuesday, 19 June 2007 15:49 (eighteen years ago)
btw, this week marks the 25th anniversary of the release of Lexicon Of Love, weep now, my brothers...
― Marcello Carlin, Tuesday, 19 June 2007 15:50 (eighteen years ago)
Of course here would be an apt place to state that At My Age, the new Nick Lowe album, is very fine indeed but likely only to be appreciated by people of "our" age.
― Marcello Carlin, Tuesday, 19 June 2007 15:53 (eighteen years ago)
ha
i think Leonard Cohen's later work could safely be considered for a certain age as well...

― fandango, Tuesday, 19 June 2007 19:02 (eighteen years ago)
not that there's anything wrong with that, but the only answer you're gonna get here is LOVE EVERYTHING and quit worrying. Not a bad idea really :)
― fandango, Tuesday, 19 June 2007 19:06 (eighteen years ago)
