How many can you name?
And check out the accompanying explanation. There was a course on Steely Dan? For one night only?!?!? And then a Steely Dan trivia party?!?!? Were these cupcakes baked in an alternative realm where Becker/Fagen rule as overlords?

Uh, the titles are on the screen.
Doing a katydid for "Katy Lied" was funny to me because I always think of katydids when I see that album title.
― Hurting 2, Tuesday, 19 June 2007 14:49 (eighteen years ago)
Might have something to do with the album cover too!
― Billy Pilgrim, Tuesday, 19 June 2007 15:02 (eighteen years ago)
oh yeah, dur
― Hurting 2, Tuesday, 19 June 2007 15:11 (eighteen years ago)
I do not own Katy Lied, obv.
What screen?
― Kevin John Bozelka, Tuesday, 19 June 2007 15:59 (eighteen years ago)
Sorry, if you click through the photos it says what each one is. But I guess you could just guess them from the first page if you can see them well enough.
― Hurting 2, Tuesday, 19 June 2007 16:22 (eighteen years ago)
The first few don't have titles, but the rest do. You can see them by either mousing over each image within the set on that main page, or by clicking on each individual photo to enlarge it.

This does NOT look like a bodacious cowboy
― Hurting 2, Tuesday, 19 June 2007 16:28 (eighteen years ago)
so they're saying that those kicks that i thought were "bad sneakers" are actually "high-heeled sneakers"? sorry, but i was right and they are wrong, even if they baked the cupcakes themselves.

Sorry, if you click through the photos it says what each one is.
Ah, thanx! Didn't see that.

― Billy Pilgrim, Tuesday, 19 June 2007 19:10 (eighteen years ago)
hi everyone. i made those cupcakes! i'm glad you like(?) them. i had no idea they'd made the news at a message board except that a total stranger just emailed me about them. :D some of the designs didn't turn out that spot-on for the concept because my friend who was helping me make them knew nothing about steely dan was. the "course" was given by me, playing lots of steely dan and telling her everything i know and why i love the band. i was giving her subjects like "no bodacious cowboys" (they'll never be welcome here) and she came up with something far more detailed and well-executed than i could have, whether it really looks like a BODACIOUS cowboy or not ;) she used to decorate cakes at a bakery.
these were funfetti cuppies, and they were delicious. wish i could share one with you all now! but they are long gone. - gwen
ps- all my photos are protected under creative commons license which asks very little except that you note who the photos are by if you share or use them (and they can't be used commercially). my name is gwen owen, but you can call me monsterpants- that works just as well.

pps- it was extremely difficult to frost a picture of a high-heeled sneaker accurately- and beside that... don't you think high-heeled sneakers are, by their very design, bad sneakers? i vote that either description works totally fine for that cupcake.

welcome aboard, monsterpants, and yes i am with you on the automatic equating of hi-heeled sneaks and bad sneaks!
