Damn I love that song "House A Home," which I first heard on a Volume comp. Besides that I've only heard some Screaming Trees and a few of the Isobel Campbell tracks, and it's all been solid. What's yer fave ML song?

Crud this thread is a bit superfluous, I just discovered. But looking through the S&D thread I don't see "House a Home" mentioned once. This is one of those songs I liked so much a was scared to delve any further into the man's oeuvre for fear of not finding anything else so good.

It's not one of his tunes, but on the Skip Spence tribute comp, he absolutely wails on a version of "Cripple Creek".

"Consider Me" from I'll Take Care of You is probably my all time favorite. I think his original songs were better on the albums he did after that all-covers one.

pretty much impossible to pick any one song off of The Winding Sheet, but lets go with "Undertow", for its bridge.

"Wild Flowers" is stunning, too. He's since settled into this smoky, oaken rasp that's a bit much.

I'm sure I've said this elsewhere but his best application of said voice was siccing it on the Great American Songbook on Imitations
