What are the best songs featuring washboard?

And a follow-up question: what is better, washboard sound or reco reco?

You're essentially comparing percussion to woodwind, you nutjob!

Besides, the 13th Floor Smellevators ruined me on that fine instrument.

It's a cool sound. Klkllklklk!... Klkllklklk! or Kshukkashukkashukka!

I'd say I prefer an old, wooden washboard to a a reco reco because it sounds just about the same if you play it right. And you can get less definition for the Kshukkashukkashukka sound if that's what you need. Plus, when you're done, you can get that stain out of your shirt.

Anyway, I nominate Fee because I think in the studio it's a reco reco and live it has been a washboard and because it is about a buddhist weasel featuring lyrics about nipple-slicing.

Lotsa stuff by Black Oak Arkansas, particularly the ironically-titled "When Electricity Came to Arkansas".

BTW, I really prefer to call it a "scrub-board" - the word "washboard" I find a bit too high-falutin'.
