why all the general hate for "big shit poppin'"?

that song seems to me like the perfect "looking down from the throne" type song.

even more than "what you know" i think "big shit" defines swagger better than any song i've heard in along while.

well i'll repost here, since i couldn't find this thread before...

it is pretty drab and stale-ish. i guess i like the danja tracks best, at least they move a little. it's weird tho because it doesn't seem exactly like tip's not interested, which is the usual problem with an album like this. more like this is what he meant to do, it's his idea of moving to next corporate level or something.

i'll see if it grows on me, but right out of the box it's just kinda draggy and airless. there's a handful of things that'll probably end up on my t.i. playlist, but not too many.

ok further listening... i like the intro and intermission bits, "big shit poppin," "you know what it is" (even with the silly wyclef shouts), "watch what you say to me," "hurt," "tell 'em i said that." a lot of the rest isn't bad, but some great verses are undercut by weak hooks and excessive cornballness. and there's just this sonic squishiness to a lot of it, like it can't quite get off the couch.

on the cd jacket, yes, but it's censored as "Big S**t Poppin'". it's funny tho cuz I remember when I bought it the sticker said "featuring Big Things Poppin'" instead.

Heard a guy do "Big Things Poppin'" at a karaoke bar last night, though he gave up halfway through. Sounded good in that context.

i used to do that one (albeit with a cell phone cuz the lyrics on screen were too slow).

I still dig the tune.

"respect this hustle" is fantastic -- great, great beat from danja

"hurt" is such an underrated tip single (because it came off an album that no one really reps for)

"big shit poppin" is terrible, at least when compared to the biggest single off pretty much any other t.i. album
