Sean Paul Singles Poll

"like glue," with nods to "gimme the light" and the crazy under appreciated "we be burnin'"

They're all good, but I think "Deport Them" is still the best of this bunch. Of course this isn't even 1% of all the singles that Sean Paul has actually released over the years.

It's between "Deport 'Dem" and "I'm Still In Love With You" for me. All of his singles are amazing though.

I'd go for "Infiltrator", but in its absence, I'll throw my vote towards "Get Busy".

for clarification, i took these off of wikipedia (missed that blu cantrell one by accident), so these are official us/uk singles.

Probably sounds megapopulist of me to say this but it's obviously "Get Busy" from my perspective.

This poll marginalises a lot of his great JA only singles like "Close To Me", "Head Fi Toe" and esp. the awesome "Life Is A Gift".

Or his fantastic "Haffi Get De Gal Ya (Hot Gal Today)" w/ Mr. Vegas on the Streetsweeper riddim or "Ever Blazin" on Masterpiece.

Well they all sound exactly the same, so I guess I'll just vote for boring old "Get Busy," because it was the one I heard first.

"Like Glue" always struck me as the prettiest one with the perkiest synths, and I loved when someone on ILM pointed out it was basically "Louie Louie"--so that gets my vote, but just narrowly over "Get Busy" and "Gimme Da Light."

btw, they hardly "all sound exactly the same"! That's ridiculous. "Like Glue" and "Get Busy" are entirely different, just for starters. They "all sound exactly the same" in the same way that any music sung by the same person sound exactly the same.

i'm basically astounded that "gimmie the light" only got one vote.

...and "Baby Boy" got none.

Of those listed "Baby Boy" would be my second favourite song, but I don't really think of it as a Sean Paul song. If you're gonna include it you may as well include "Breathe" and Mya's amazing "Things Come & Go" as well.

I KNOW! i guess maybe people associate that more with beyonce, but i f'in love that song.

also: has anyone had better singles this decade than sean paul? i think maybe outkast, the white stripes, missy elliot. britney... but you could argue sean paul over all of those (and everyone else) i think.

'baby boy' is probably my favourite of those after 'get busy' too - it's v possibly my second favourite beyoncé single as well - but i think beyoncé's responsible for its best bits (the second verse). really underrated song.
