It is the first LP I can remember hearing/seeing

Parallel Lines could win this thing by a VERY large margin.

It will probably end up with more than 80% of the votes.

Knee-jerk popular vote because that's the one everyone knows. Plastic Letters, Eat To The Beat, and most of Autoamerican are just as good.

Autoamerican is flaccid! "T-Birds"! "Europa!"

I'm almost tempted to vote for Eat To The Beat on the strength of the first side and three on the flip, but Parallel Lines takes it.

Bah, irrelevant! "Angels On The Balcony" is one of the best Blondie songs!

I have listened to my vinyl Blondie albums more than any other group prolly, and it's Parallel Lines easily.

Plastic Letters has two good songs.

parallel lines is the best but eat to the beat comes pretty close and is getting my vote as i've overexposed myself to parallel lines over the years. also, eat to the beat has my favourite blondie song on it - 'shayla'.

And "Union City Blue," "Atomic," "Die Young, Stay Pretty," "The Harderst Part..."

Plastic Letters has two good songs.

By the way, No Exit is much, much better than it's credited. I could easily fit "Under the Gun," "Maria," "Nothing is Real But the Girl," and "Screaming Skin" on a Blondie comp.

Parallel Lines for best album, tho I'd say the hit singles from Autoamerican and "Call Me" represent their best work.

don't know why exactly but blondie's middle-aged comeback was one of the most pointless of such exercises ever at least to my ears

Crap, I didn't get to vote. I guess the title of the thread turned me off at first, as it didn't say what kind of Blondie poll this was. But my lone vote for Eat To The Beat would not have made a dent in Parallel Lines, anyway.

I gradually got to like Parallel Lines more and more. At first I found it a bit puzzling and too 50's influenced. I'm still sad I don't have it on vinyl, actually because I wanted to hang the sleeve up on the wall. God this is weird, I could have sworn I bought that thing on vinyl at some point.

That's the sort of large margin I had in mind, yes.

I probably woulda given the whole thing to Plastic Letters except it doesn't have 11.59 OR Dreaming.
