Juries are overrated. Trials should be heard by a specially selected panel of experts in the manner of The X-Factor.

'predictable contrarianism' by the lol way to undermine the jury system just as the government is trying to limit its.

"Trials should be heard by a specially selected panel of experts in the manner of The X-Factor."

Better still we could televise highlights of every trial; carefully edited so as to ensure fairness and objectivity at all times and remove any possibility of undue bias create the highest possible amount of sensationalism, thereby keeping as many people as possible interested and watching / voting; and then let the public vote by phone or text.

We could get Anne Robinson to pass sentence and Davina McCall to interview the guilty before they're sent down - and by using premium-rate 'phone lines, we could simultaneously help to raise money to pay for all of those extra prisons we'll be needing.

Have you ever seen how much barristers charge? If she's wasted a couple senior barristers' time for 2-3 days then the cost of that alone could easily run into tens of thousands!
