bands i don't listen to most often cited by metal bands that i DO listen to as a big influence: tool, melvins, dream theater.

I'm really surprised you don't listen to the Melvins Scott as I always sort of pictured you as a guy wearing a Melvins shirt.

it is kinda surprising.

the singer probably ruins the band for me more than anything. he's got one of those trained voices that sounds stale and by-the-numbers.

petrucci, despite being a clown, is my only reason to listen to dream theater and find them mildly entertaining

while absentminded, it's kinda cosy easy to mix up their name with dream academy's...

(the greater the disappointment afterwards, 'fcourse)

This has to be one of the most vandalized band wiki entries out there.

I read this press release "DREAM THEATER To Be Joined By The Esteemed BERKLEE COLLEGE OF MUSIC At The Boston Opera House On Tuesday, March 25" as meaning the entire Berklee College of Music would be performing with the band, which could be the only way to get me to see Dream Theater.

I for one am fully happy to blame this behavior on his choice of music
