"Choco Bars" or "Birthday Cake"?
Doesn't matter to me, I say they're both so sweet so you should "Shut Up and Eeeeeaattttt!!!"

Cibo Matto = played on Buffy the Vampire Slayer (only good band EVAH far as I can recall)
Shonen Knife = interviewed by Frank Kogan the Epistemology Slayer

Hence a tie.

I saw Shonen Knife do an in-store show at the Newbury Comics in Harvard Square. They were awesome. I love Cibo Matto's first album, but _Stereotype A_ is a big pile of stinky poo. Sigh.

Both of these bands were more famous then they should've been. Winner is Cibo Matto, but only for the early version of "Know Your Chicken" with Russel Simins on drums.

How about Butter 08. I like that record better than Cibo Matto.

Cibo Matto for their first album, Yuka's solo album, the Gondry video, and all of the FOOD. Shonen Knife is what I plan to raise my kids on, however.

cibo matto are pretty cool, 'viva! la woman' has some lovely bits in.

The one time I ever heard a Cibo Matto record it sounded a lot like Moonshake minus Callahan's vocals. The many times I have been subjected to Shonen Knife records they sounded a lot like Kurt Cobain's favourite band evah. Therefore Cibo Matto are much, much better.

As Chunklet said about Guitar Wolf:

Lock 'n Loll!

I think this is the first time that Dan and I strongly disagree on something, as I love the second Cibo Matto album (my 102 Beats That entry, no less!). I revoke my membership to the Dan Perry fan club. :(
