lou reed??

(mwaha-HA-HA-HAHAHA!)

t**t, Friday, 13 July 2007 19:04 (eighteen years ago)

I think Red Hot Chili Peppers is the answer to this for me, kinda

marmotwolof, Friday, 13 July 2007 19:05 (eighteen years ago)

bands you like but don't love (I like BloodSugar and that's about it) but you love some of the people in the band (Frusciante) but you don't like some of the other people (the other guys) but you like them when they're not in the band (sometimes Flea is an ok guest artist)

marmotwolof, Friday, 13 July 2007 19:06 (eighteen years ago)

I'm just glad there was a proper answer, then.

Noodle Vague, Friday, 13 July 2007 19:08 (eighteen years ago)

Well, however wrong I may be - as regards underschtading marmot's propositon - I'm also ready to go with that.

('cause I do loathe L'Reed even when "they're not in the band")

((Sorry, Noodle))

t**t, Friday, 13 July 2007 19:09 (eighteen years ago)

No, it's all good. I must have an answer too if I could think of one. Not that baby tho. He's cool.

Noodle Vague, Friday, 13 July 2007 19:10 (eighteen years ago)

In fact mine would be a metal band, I'm sure of it. Anthrax maybe.

Noodle Vague, Friday, 13 July 2007 19:12 (eighteen years ago)

Or the Mothers of Invention.

Noodle Vague, Friday, 13 July 2007 19:13 (eighteen years ago)

they weren't a metal band

marmotwolof, Friday, 13 July 2007 19:15 (eighteen years ago)

well yeah -- one of the things one could say in their defence! :)

t**t, Friday, 13 July 2007 19:16 (eighteen years ago)

No, I know. Maybe not necessarily a metal band.

Noodle Vague, Friday, 13 July 2007 19:16 (eighteen years ago)

good stuff you lime

Charlie Howard, Friday, 13 July 2007 19:17 (eighteen years ago)

Come to think of it I don't love anybody in either of those bands. This question might be too specific.

Noodle Vague, Friday, 13 July 2007 19:18 (eighteen years ago)

this shit backfired. you can actually answer the question. your design was to make this shit so absurd that you couldn't answer this shit. but your shit backfired.

Charlie Howard, Friday, 13 July 2007 19:21 (eighteen years ago)

Nah, I was mainly just typing words in at random that made no sense. It was a tribute.

Noodle Vague, Friday, 13 July 2007 19:24 (eighteen years ago)

thanks buddy. hail to england

Charlie Howard, Friday, 13 July 2007 19:25 (eighteen years ago)

(Charlie - yo from Scotland or samthung? :)

t**t, Friday, 13 July 2007 19:39 (eighteen years ago)

if that one dude who sings wasn't in fugazi i would own every fugazi album. but he his, so i don't own any fugazi albums. not ian. the other guy. wait, not true. i own the first album with waiting room on it (bought it for a dollar outside newton, mass years after selling my tape copy), cuz every once in a while i can kinda tolerate that one song. even though he sings on it. but only that one song. maybe someone could make me a tape of fugazi instrumentals or songs that he doesn't sing on at all. if there are any. it's sad kinda. cuz ian is one of my favorite 20th century singers.

scott seward, Friday, 13 July 2007 19:46 (eighteen years ago)

you;re talking about guy

bell_labs, Friday, 13 July 2007 19:49 (eighteen years ago)

what's your take on cassavetes?

sexyDancer, Friday, 13 July 2007 19:50 (eighteen years ago)

been to scotland. :) beautiful place, rich history...and full of alcoholics!

Charlie Howard, Friday, 13 July 2007 19:50 (eighteen years ago)

Charlie you sure you weren (sober & that you weren)'t in Finland? or Russia??
:))

t**t, Friday, 13 July 2007 19:52 (eighteen years ago)

haven't yet had the pleasure of visiting either of those places. might fit in helsinki some time next year though.

have been to latvia. lots of drinking there.

Charlie Howard, Friday, 13 July 2007 19:56 (eighteen years ago)

heheh. 's quite a bitta drinkering also to latvia's north. (i'm not too happy to say)

t**t, Friday, 13 July 2007 19:59 (eighteen years ago)

IMO Karl Wallinger made considerably better music after he left Waterboys and started World Party.

Geir Hongro, Friday, 13 July 2007 21:15 (eighteen years ago)

Despite my great respect and admiration for Noodle Vague, I honestly can't think of a single band I feel the way the thread title says.

Bimble, Sunday, 15 July 2007 03:00 (eighteen years ago)

Buffalo Springfield. Maybe.

will, Sunday, 15 July 2007 03:07 (eighteen years ago)

maybe the Eagles, too.

I like a handful of their songs, but I certainly don't love the Eagles. I love Joe Walsh. Can't say I give much of a fuck about the rest of the dudes, but I liked Bernie Leadon when he was in the Flying Burrito Bros.

will, Sunday, 15 July 2007 03:10 (eighteen years ago)

Buffalo Springfield and the Eagles both good answers IMO.

marmotwolof, Sunday, 15 July 2007 03:19 (eighteen years ago)

Travelling Wilburys possibly.

everything, Sunday, 15 July 2007 03:32 (eighteen years ago)

haha I almost said that but I think I like all of those guys

marmotwolof, Sunday, 15 July 2007 03:34 (eighteen years ago)

Dylan's a bit irrelevant in the band so I counted him as being the one I didn't like. I like him otherwise thought.

everything, Sunday, 15 July 2007 03:36 (eighteen years ago)

I love Guy. He sings things like

Your eyes
Like crashing jets
fixed in stained glass
but not religious

You should pay rent
in my mind
say like the French say
Bon soir regret
a demain, demain, a demain, demain

with such fervor. He's such the promising college coffeehouse poet.

The Sun & The Moon: decent album, some good songs, the rhythm section's great, but Mark's songwriting is mostly mediocre despite his awesome work with the Chameleons

Curt1s Stephens, Sunday, 15 July 2007 05:37 (eighteen years ago)

Didn't like The Sugarcubes, kind of like Björk.

Geir Hongro, Sunday, 15 July 2007 19:18 (eighteen years ago)

And - hey! Obviously, I used to hate Take That, but Robbie Williams started his solo career with at least two great albums.
