I think Leonardo means "hey, pretty-boy" (as in diCaprio), based on the name's use in the song

Just for the complete absurdity of it being one of the 20th century's last big hits that's carried over some notoriety into the 21st century, I vote "Nookie."

Oleander's big hit was "I Walk Alone" BTW

Unfortunately not an update of Positive K's self-deprecating early-'90s rap hit "I Got a Man," This Moment Is Mine's first single instead is all too typical of an ego fest of an album that also finds the singer praising (on "Blooming Flower") the "shining colors of a love that's ours," then kicking the guy to the curb because "I'm on a course set before we met." The efforts of star producers such as Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Jermaine Dupri, and Rodney Jerkins are all sadly wasted on this soft-soul project, whose depth is perhaps best indicated by this liner-note shout out to Jesus: "You are so awesome. Thank you for being God!"

I don't like Limp Bizkit, although I still think their few best singles were better than most top 40 rock in 2007. "Nookie" wins.

Voted Fatboy Slim because the rest either sucks bigtime or I've never ever heard them.

this was really really hard. first I go for "Special," but then I'm all like "Can I imagine life without 'What's My Age Again'?" And then I think of the "Nookie" sample and LOL and then I think of Blessid Union of Souls and LOL harder.

Wrong. Teenpop sounded decent at times, but 1999 seemed to be mainly about bad latino (Gloria Estefan used to do that genre a lot better) and dream trance/commercial trance. Travis was more or less creating a new genre that would dominate European album charts of the 00s (which was good) and in the US R&B was already dominating, still anticipating the 00/01 R&B invasion of the European charts (which was bad).

But in the meantime, 99 was a weak year for music in general. In spite of that Travis album.....

I remember a boy in sixth grade taking out a crumpled profile of Britney from "People" and when I asked him who this was and why he was carrying it around with him he reprimanded me for not knowing who Britney Spears was and said that it was impossible to find pictures of her on the internet. It's funny, at the time I was starting to watch wrestling again and so I associated her last name with Goldberg's finisher for quite awhile after.

This was right around when he second single was coming out.
