"King's Approach"--they just played it in NY tonight (have played it at least once or twice prior to tonight). 10+ minute krauty jam, absolutely off the fucking hook, could very well be the best thing they've ever done. Anyone heard? There are live mp3's floating around...

Oh, I didn't know the title when they played it in Brussels, thx! (I thought it was their standard final encore song this tour? they also played it in Amsterdam, for instance)

StanM, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 08:11 (eighteen years ago)

it's not bad but it's not that krauty.

hstencil, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 08:23 (eighteen years ago)

Are you kidding? Post-6:00ish, is totally krauty!

Stevie D, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 08:28 (eighteen years ago)

or more 6:50ish

Stevie D, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 08:29 (eighteen years ago)

what, bill laswell?

StanM, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 10:06 (eighteen years ago)

Saw them play it at the Abbey Pub on Saturday in Chicago. Agree on Krautyness, mostly it's very Ashra when Brian comes back in with the solo.

call all destroyer, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 15:23 (eighteen years ago)

yeah they played this as their "encore" at Pitchfork.

It seemed like they were just jamming at first until the parts came in that were obviously written.

Stormy Davis, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 15:41 (eighteen years ago)

Ooh I'll get to hear this next month in Glasgow.

leigh, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 15:45 (eighteen years ago)

ysi?

Steve Shasta, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 15:50 (eighteen years ago)

it was recorded when during the sessions for the last ep. it was written then, and tapes exist of it. it's definitely reminiscent of those two songs. and yes, a new album at some point.

YGS, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 15:55 (eighteen years ago)

Was it really? like back in 1990 or whenever? How many other songs have they written but just never released?

And you say tapes of it exist... are they in circulation, or are you just aware of their existence?

Stevie D, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 17:48 (eighteen years ago)

YGS is actually David Pajo.

David R., Wednesday, 18 July 2007 18:06 (eighteen years ago)

the tapes are not in circulation. (i also have not heard them.) there were a couple of songs that didn't make that ep, and this is one of them.

it also isn't very good.

YGS, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 19:04 (eighteen years ago)

mm excuse me?

Stevie D, Wednesday, 18 July 2007 19:37 (eighteen years ago)

six years pass...

Watter project is pretty good. I usually don't go for long atmospheric things but this one caught me. And Rachel Grimes so

calstars, Tuesday, 10 June 2014 19:45 (eleven years ago)

yeah i'm into it too. kinda feels like post rock is finally pulling off its mission impossible mask and underneath is prog rock and prog rock is all like it's been me the whole time fools

adam, Wednesday, 11 June 2014 01:55 (eleven years ago)

three months pass...

i saw watter live last week and they were so krautrocky live, then i listened to the album and i was getting something else completely. they're quite good whatever it is.
