Fiddy Cent Singles Poll

Seems appropriate enough to me since it seems as if we've seen the best of ol' 50.

Also up for discussion: is "Vitamin Water" the best taunt/ad-lib in rap?

(This doesn't include singles off the G-Unit album.)

Jordan Sargent, Friday, 20 July 2007 04:23 (eighteen years ago)

besides this being retardedly hard, it's gotten me really excited for the 50 greatest hits album two years from now.

anyway i voted for "If I Can't" which i always identified as my favorite 50 song, but i don't ever remember being a single.

Jordan Sargent, Friday, 20 July 2007 04:25 (eighteen years ago)

wow this is hard. is it fair to vote for 'magic stick' when that's really kim's jam? really tempted bu 'outta control'...

lex pretend, Friday, 20 July 2007 06:52 (eighteen years ago)

randomly hearing that song tonight actually sparked the creation of this poll, so i would say yes.

also, raise your hand if you knew that "magic stick" was at one point the #2 song in the united states.

Jordan Sargent, Friday, 20 July 2007 07:45 (eighteen years ago)

outta control is my shit

tremendoid, Friday, 20 July 2007 08:28 (eighteen years ago)

tremendoid, Friday, 20 July 2007 08:33 (eighteen years ago)

HATE IT OR LOVE IT

marmotwolof, Friday, 20 July 2007 08:35 (eighteen years ago)

outta control every time, car jam

Filey Camp, Friday, 20 July 2007 10:27 (eighteen years ago)

If I could vote for album cuts that DJs played the hell out of, I'd vote for "Poor Lil Rich" or "What Up Gangsta." I think I like the singles he did w/ Yayo and Game better than his actual solo singles, though, so maybe I'll vote for one of those.

Alex in Baltimore, Friday, 20 July 2007 12:51 (eighteen years ago)

"21 Questions" is the one I still go back to most often, though "Outta Control" and "In Da Club" are close.

sw00ds, Friday, 20 July 2007 12:53 (eighteen years ago)

no poor lil rich so if i cant

and what, Friday, 20 July 2007 13:19 (eighteen years ago)

"How We Do" makes me feel like Night Rider, so that.

The Reverend, Friday, 20 July 2007 16:33 (eighteen years ago)

lex pretend loooool you should have voted for jus a lil bit

1. hate it or love it
2. best friend
3. 21 questions
4. in da club
5. just a lil bit
6. outta control
7. hustler's ambition

the mixtapes were much better, so is full clip, 'i appear to disappear with the heater like a genie' 'in the cut like germs, do dirt like worms' and track 4 off massacre

luriqua, Friday, 20 July 2007 17:05 (eighteen years ago)

50 Cent's new album, "Curtis," has been pushed back another week from Sept. 4 to Sept. 11, according to Interscope, who declined to give a reason for the move.
oh no. lol. this vying for the v-tec banner on his myspace for most hardcore marketing ever

luriqua, Friday, 20 July 2007 17:29 (eighteen years ago)

yall shld check my lawrence welk style cover of candy shop

luriqua, Friday, 20 July 2007 17:30 (eighteen years ago)

with*

luriqua, Friday, 20 July 2007 17:31 (eighteen years ago)

actually they did give a reason for the move, supposedly the 4th being the day after Labor Day would've made things complicated retail-wise. not that it's a particularly valid reason, but that's what they said.

everyone's hyping up the fact that 50 and Kanye currently have the same release date but I'm sure Kanye will move. he'd already talked about moving up to August but I'm guessing he'll get pushed back in light of his miserable first 2 singles doing even worse than 50's on the radio so far. (xpost)

Alex in Baltimore, Friday, 20 July 2007 17:33 (eighteen years ago)

this is a difficult poll.
vote.

Jordan Sargent, Friday, 20 July 2007 21:51 (eighteen years ago)

i voted for how we do, slightly over how to rob, wanksta, and if i can't

M@tt He1ges0n, Friday, 20 July 2007 21:54 (eighteen years ago)

i'm seriously astounded my how staggeringly deep/great 50's single's catalog is. in all honesty, who in the history of rap is stacking up with that?
jay? outkast? eminem? wu?
who am i missing?

Jordan Sargent, Friday, 20 July 2007 21:57 (eighteen years ago)

LL Cool J if you went back and look at all his singles would be hard to fuck with.

M@tt He1ges0n, Friday, 20 July 2007 22:28 (eighteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

ILX System, Saturday, 21 July 2007 23:01 (eighteen years ago)

looool

luriqua, Saturday, 21 July 2007 23:09 (eighteen years ago)

Christ, he has so many singles!

Alfred, Lord Sotosyn, Saturday, 21 July 2007 23:12 (eighteen years ago)

i mean ll just by sheer numbers and years he's been around, i mean luv u better's decent and that was only a couple years ago...when was his first single, like 85 or something?

M@tt He1ges0n, Saturday, 21 July 2007 23:18 (eighteen years ago)

50 Cent's new album, "Curtis,"

I'd buy it

Curt1s Stephens, Saturday, 21 July 2007 23:21 (eighteen years ago)

2003: Get Rich or Die Tryin'
2005: The Massacre
2007: Curtis
2008: Before I Self Destruct

Tape Store, Saturday, 21 July 2007 23:26 (eighteen years ago)

once Curtis drops he'll have to change it to After I Self Destruct.

50's single catalogue kinda sucks, if you ask me, definitely doesn't fuck with a lot of other people's runs, especially if you don't count guest appearances on other G-Unit artists' singles. come to think of it, you could delete all of the singles from 50's solo albums and I'd still be left with all the songs of his that I actually like.

Alex in Baltimore, Sunday, 22 July 2007 02:20 (eighteen years ago)

It's all worthless bullshit. Raise your standards.

Alex in NYC, Sunday, 22 July 2007 02:41 (eighteen years ago)

WOOO! NOW THAT'S GANGSTA! TELL EM! TELL EM!

Alex in NYC, can I be your Tony Yayo?

Alex in Baltimore, Sunday, 22 July 2007 02:54 (eighteen years ago)

it's so nice having alex in nyc back ... :-O

Eisbaer, Sunday, 22 July 2007 04:12 (eighteen years ago)

Okay, so where's "Wanna Get To Know You"??

billstevejim, Sunday, 22 July 2007 04:25 (eighteen years ago)

Oh wait, I just saw the "no G Unit" disclaimer.

billstevejim, Sunday, 22 July 2007 04:25 (eighteen years ago)

Okay, so where's "Wanna Get To Know You"??

prolly would have gotten my vote, but i had to draw the line somewhere.

Jordan Sargent, Sunday, 22 July 2007 04:36 (eighteen years ago)

I should start a "Who has benefitted more from being in the right place at the right time than 50 Cent?" thread.

HI DERE, Sunday, 22 July 2007 15:49 (eighteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

ILX System, Sunday, 22 July 2007 23:01 (eighteen years ago)

ah 'wanksta' should have got some votes at least!!

lex pretend, Sunday, 22 July 2007 23:03 (eighteen years ago)

i'm happy "disco inferno" got a vote. i always thought it was unjustly maligned.

Jordan Sargent, Sunday, 22 July 2007 23:05 (eighteen years ago)

"I Know You Don't Love Me" (w/ Tony Yayo) 0

i actually really dig this

and what, Monday, 23 July 2007 17:40 (eighteen years ago)

yeah, that song is great.

Alex in Baltimore, Monday, 23 July 2007 17:42 (eighteen years ago)

TS: Jay-z "Thug Love" vs. Twista and Lil Kim "Thug Love"

wanko ergo sum, Monday, 23 July 2007 17:54 (eighteen years ago)

vs bone thugs + 2pac - thug luv

and what, Monday, 23 July 2007 18:06 (eighteen years ago)

twista is AMAZING on that track

lex pretend, Monday, 23 July 2007 18:08 (eighteen years ago)

lex did you hear the halloween mix i posted here where i put the twista verse on ciara - oh???

and what, Monday, 23 July 2007 18:08 (eighteen years ago)

I liked "I Know You Don't Love Me" and "So Seductive". They're both very slinky, especially the latter.

The Reverend, Monday, 23 July 2007 18:12 (eighteen years ago)

The Game almost wrecks Hate it or Love it, worst part of that song is when 50 says "Enough of me nigga, now listen to Game" noooooooooooo.

bnw, Monday, 23 July 2007 20:38 (eighteen years ago)

Window Shopper too.

a hoy hoy, Monday, 25 May 2009 11:54 (sixteen years ago)

hey you guys forgot "smile" that g-unit single with 50 on the hook. i don't know if i would have voted it my favorite but i always liked it anyway

not exactly related, but still, i was just sitting here wondering: has anyone dropped a "how to rob" verse/couplet about robbing fiddy anywhere yet?

messiahwannabe, Monday, 25 May 2009 12:12 (sixteen years ago)

oh, never mind, "(This doesn't include singles off the G-Unit album.)" but why not if you've got lil kim singles, game singles, etc?

messiahwannabe, Monday, 25 May 2009 12:19 (sixteen years ago)

I'm quite surprised "P.I.M.P" didn't get more votes. love the caribbean vibe. my favorite with "hate it or love it".
great catalogue, anyway. In the hiphop/rnb field it didn't get much better this decade, right ? With Kels and JayZ...

i didn't realize anybody fucked with "window shopper" like that

some dude, Monday, 25 May 2009 13:25 (sixteen years ago)

yeah idk maybs some hyperbole - "hustler's ambition" is top 2 50 singles for me and "window shopper" is dope - 50's an incredible melodic rapper, him and nelly

some people wait a lifetime for a momus like this (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 26 May 2009 10:14 (sixteen years ago)

window shopper is great

autogucci cru (deej), Tuesday, 26 May 2009 10:22 (sixteen years ago)

one of 50's biggest strengths is the ability to make a general diss track like that sting as hard as a personal one - this is why "i get money" was such a return to form (aside from the fact that he wasn't rapping about his dick of course) with him yelling out vitamin water and shit - he needs to get back to this kind of thing

some people wait a lifetime for a momus like this (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 26 May 2009 10:26 (sixteen years ago)

i kinda think this beat is the shit btw
