Why, lo and behold! It's the Shoegazing You Tube thread!

I've been on an early 90's trip musically lately.

MBV, "Soon" (I just realized that as far as I'm concerned this is the best thing they ever did...though I've always felt that way)

Ride "Sennen"

Lush "Sweetness & Light" (this one has crap sound quality, though)

Moose "Jack" Live (I'd forgotten how much the singer looks like the guy from the The Chills)

Curve "Coast Is Clear" (what, Toni? Good looking? NAH!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1RfhJzqUtw

Curve "Ten Little Girls" (this video isn't as good as the other one, but check out that long earring she's wearing!)

Help me out with some more, folks.

I have a VHS Creation video, that has some classick 80s/early 90s shoegaze on it like Ride and MBV, and stuff like Momus and Primal Scream. Its top stuff, pity my VCR is kind of not working.

Trayce, Sunday, 22 July 2007 13:51 (eighteen years ago)

Yes! I have that Creation video. I still have it. Not sure if it has Momus, though. Maybe you have a different one. I'll have to dig it out.

Bimble, Sunday, 22 July 2007 13:55 (eighteen years ago)

Nope, got it now and you're right. It has Momus on it. Good lord, who'd have thought?

Bimble, Sunday, 22 July 2007 13:57 (eighteen years ago)

Good lord I'm real glad you reminded me of this because I thought I no longer had any Ride on VHS at all.

I love the video for "Like a Daydream" with the bit with the girl standing on the steps, who does the "go crazy and scream and shake yer hair all about" in slomo.

Version of 'Flying' from the recent reformation. This is really excellent.

MBV "Feed Me with your Kiss/Isn't Anything review"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qU_lVD2uh0

about a minute in, the reviewer criticizes Isn't Anything for succumbing to "stock-in-trade indie cliches", resulting in a "missed opportunity".

ARGH ARGH ARGH, WHY WILL YOUTUBE NEVER WORK FOR ME?!?!?

It is simply not fair.

OK, I've probably seen most of those clips projected on the walls at Sonic Cathedrals, but still.

Not shoegazing, in my opinion...but some folks considered it so:

I can't find "Breather" by Chapterhouse, but I'm pretty sure it was never a single, so there wouldn't be a video anyway. Although I'm literally twice as old now as I was when I first heard it, it's still stunning.
