Favourite format for listening to music

Did I miss anything? I decided not to include radio or live music or anything like that. You'd think it's be a 3-way tie between vinyl, CD and MP3 but there may be minidisc sleepers out there.

outdoor_miner, Monday, 23 July 2007 21:15 (eighteen years ago)

In your head, while following the score. Maybe I shouldn't have included that one.

Matt #2, Monday, 23 July 2007 21:21 (eighteen years ago)

video game music was my shit in 4th grade

Curt1s Stephens, Tuesday, 24 July 2007 15:42 (eighteen years ago)

Funny things in that article Herman G. posted above: 1)I can't believe record companies really think cd singles have any future at all and 2)some article was posted last week or so saying that vinyl sales were up 13% or something this year, but the charts at the bottom of that article seem to indicate that vinyl singles sales are actually decreasing for both 7" and 12" formats.

matt2, Tuesday, 24 July 2007 16:43 (eighteen years ago)

I voted vinyl first and foremost, but for portability? - Yeah I'll be the dick that calls out FLAC/SHN/WAV - lossless baby lossless.

John Justen, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 23:04 (eighteen years ago)

Actually, no joke, my answer would be reel to reel. But I'm a freak.

John Justen, Wednesday, 25 July 2007 23:12 (eighteen years ago)

CD forever. Ban all other formats!

how so?

Herman G. Neuname, Friday, 27 July 2007 15:45 (eighteen years ago)

Hahaha, of course

Stevie D, Friday, 27 July 2007 15:54 (eighteen years ago)

I wish I had the luxury of a vinyl solution to my listening problems. There's the expense of a good player, delicate needle-to-vinyl placement that doesn't go well with my drunken listening habits, storage of huge and heavy albums, lint, wear and tear damage and decent speakers. So, for reasons of convenience, I chose mp3. Next would be the CD. But, if we're talking what SOUND I like best, it is vinyl, no doubt.
