*Prints* new album on temporary residence. dude from tarentel/pinback

Their stuff on myspace sounds pretty good, especially "Too Much Water." Real clear and matter of fact groovy. Can't vouch for the stereo, I guess.

Sometimes you can tell with your first listen to an album that it's probably going to be in semi-constant rotation for several months. I'll probably get tired of this somewhere around April of 2008, after I've heard it about 1500 times.

Oh man, I just thought of "Prints" as a band name yesterday. ;_;

Walk into a record store and ask for the new Prints album. $10 says the clerk will point you in the direction of Planet Earth.

Yeah, I've listened to it 1.5 times already, but I agree with your wish that it be a little longer.

Kind of surprising I like this so much, because I've never given two shits about Pinback or Tarantel (not that it really sounds like either of them).

here's my ilm-bait rok kriticky blurb: it's as if Battles had mated with Grizzly Bear! hahaha, okay, maybe not entirely. but the percussion/beats have that great forward momentum groove (tarentel's greatest strength was the drumming if you ask me) and that wafting in and out of your windows dreaminess of Grizzly Bear (and the super-cool harmonies).

freddie prinze jr. would be a great bandname.

actually, forget my blurb entirely. it doesn't really sound like either of those bands. but it sounds cool whatever it sounds like!

Looking it up on-line, I'm pretty sure it was *We Move Through Weather*.

Kinda curious about the Tarentel vinyl i see at the record store on the Music Fellowship label. anyone heard those? 4 albums on vinyl. which reminds me, i wanna get the black forest/black sea album on Music Fellowship.

anyway, i put the speakers outside the other night and got a little drunk and man oh man did the Prints album sound good.

Just got this. Very pleasant indeed.

Jeremy at TRL reckons it's the best record they've ever put out, which is pretty high praise. Looking forward to it.
