I"m here for a few days and I'm just wondering what stores are worth checking out. I've been to Record Revolution, but that was merely okay...found a used copy of Ambient 2 by Brian Eno. Anywhere else worth checking out?

Bent Crayon in Lakewood I recall as being really, really good but I haven't been there in a long time. Lots of electronic/techno/ambient stuff. Chris's Warped Records, also in Lakewood, for indie/underground/metal. Platter Puss, I think, is out of business, but I used to go there all the time.

Record Rev's been on a downhill slide since the '80s. The walls (with signatures of bands who came through in the '70s-'80s) are still worth a look if you're in the area.
As we've established on other threads, I'm a fan of Bent Crayon (it's in Cle actually, just a block away from the Lakewood border) -- as Phil says, your HQ for indie rock/noise/electro/ambient/experimental. Closed Mondays. Also worth a look in Lakewood is My Mind's Eye (on Madison just east of Bunts), especially recommended if you're into hard rock/psych. The east side's indie store these days is Music Saves, on Waterloo (near the Beachland Ballroom), not over there much but what I've seen is OK. I'm told Record Den in Mentor is OK, but my leash doesn't extend that far. Good luck and enjoy your stay.
