marmotwolof, Sunday, 29 July 2007 20:52 (eighteen years ago)

I might have to vote "Bourbons & Lacs" for its goofy attempt at TimBone Thugs fusion + I-10 shout out + that shit got played in the car on the way back from my high school graduation afterparty.

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Sunday, 29 July 2007 20:57 (eighteen years ago)

But then like "Make Em Say Ugh" had a deep impact on my childhood.

That's cool.

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Sunday, 29 July 2007 21:02 (eighteen years ago)

sorry, i'm being mean. this cd invented just as many "90s rap subgenres" as it stole from!

creme1, Sunday, 29 July 2007 21:04 (eighteen years ago)

I think this is the first time anyone on ILM has ever apologized to me for anything.

this cd invented just as many "90s rap subgenres" as it stole from!

Maybe so...definitely Timbo was not producing Bone Thugs homie ballads, which is kinda what we get on the homie ballads here. And I can't think of any glossy rap that was real explicit about the Space stuff before this.

I just hear lots of g-funk via nola here. Not that I think that's a bad thing!

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Sunday, 29 July 2007 21:08 (eighteen years ago)

"ninjas" ?

-- am0n, Sunday, July 29, 2007 8:37 PM

A dis @ Mannie Fresh, who put out a bass record called "We Destroy" in 1986 as part of the Ninja Crew. FACT.

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Sunday, 29 July 2007 21:43 (eighteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

ILX System, Monday, 6 August 2007 23:01 (eighteen years ago)

the best thing about this record was the action figure

am0n, Wednesday, 8 August 2007 02:16 (eighteen years ago)

-- Whiney G. Weingarten, Wednesday, August 8, 2007 1:42 AM

I forgot which one I voted for, surely not helping the confusion.

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Wednesday, 8 August 2007 02:33 (eighteen years ago)

i hope the tank shoots mystikal-shaped shells ("i'm tha round out tha tank!")

am0n, Wednesday, 8 August 2007 02:38 (eighteen years ago)

I voted Ghetto D because it was the only one I remembered how it went besides Make 'Em Say Ugh. That's the one that goes "Make crack like this" instead of "Make em clap to this," Eric B. is President style, right?

marmotwolof, Wednesday, 8 August 2007 02:43 (eighteen years ago)

shit those pix aren't showing up anymore

an imaginary master p song called "weed and monkey"> 95% of current popular rap

Jordan Sargent, Wednesday, 8 August 2007 02:54 (eighteen years ago)

As long as you're imagining, tell us how it would go, Jordan.

the skit where the Master P imposter says "uhhh" to prove his identity still cracks me up.

Bo Jackson Overdrive, Saturday, 11 February 2012 14:42 (fourteen years ago)

or where "I Miss My Homies" starts and he throws out a goofy "uhhh" that is completely incongruous with the somber proceedings.

Bo Jackson Overdrive, Saturday, 11 February 2012 14:51 (fourteen years ago)

I never really listened to master p except the singles

dave coolier (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Saturday, 11 February 2012 14:55 (fourteen years ago)

should really listen to Ghetto D in full. it's hella long but there are few dull spots. coulda used more Mystikal (he kills on all his guests).

sXe & the banshees (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Friday, 14 February 2014 02:11 (twelve years ago)

"Your little baby's cool and your baby mama's straight
But today's a sad day to see the t-shirt with your face
From the cradle to the grave, from the streets we used to fall
In the park you liked to ball, put your name upon the wall
In the projects you's a legend on the street you was a star
But it's sad to see my homeboy ridin in that black car"

;_;

sXe & the banshees (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Friday, 14 February 2014 02:16 (twelve years ago)
