Hmmmm. Illustrious company.
― Scik Mouthy, Wednesday, 1 August 2007 12:35 (eighteen years ago)
For most of us I'm assuming some deep seated issue regarding an inability to connect to other people that we use music as a surrogate for. That and cause we like to fuckin' DANCE baby.
― filthy dylan, Wednesday, 1 August 2007 12:52 (eighteen years ago)
You're talking about ILM here, dude. Not music itself.
― stevienixed, Wednesday, 1 August 2007 12:57 (eighteen years ago)

Because there is an inescapable void in my life and I lazily attempt to fill it with sensory experiences rather than deep and meaningful spiritual development.
― Richard Wood Johnson, Wednesday, 1 August 2007 14:51 (eighteen years ago)
I find the music I love does lead to "deep and meaningful spiritual development". Some people listen to their preacher, I listen to Mr. Borland, Mr. Partridge, Mr. Hitchcock. Preach on!
― Mr. Odd, Wednesday, 1 August 2007 15:46 (eighteen years ago)
Yeah, I was being kinda glib and facetious, but in a way it's true. I've mostly phased out music that I consider somehow destructive to my soul, so that's a start.
― Richard Wood Johnson, Wednesday, 1 August 2007 16:09 (eighteen years ago)
OK, honestly? This is why I love music.

Well this is a very good question, very good. I love music because it is a very true and accurate expression of individual feeling - even fakes and fools can't hide the fact if they make music. I use it as a search-and-approach method because ultimately, it's people I like. I do find that people who make impressive music are always impressive (if not perfect), and often know interesting people themselves. So for me it's a way of connecting to people I want to meet and be inspired by.

I don't love music. I love melodic music. Otherwise, I hate music.

Hey Mister D.J. put a record on I wanna dance with my baby And when the music starts I never wanna stop It's gonna drive me crazy
Music makes the people come together(yeah) Music mix the bourgeoisie and the rebels
Don't think of yesterday and don't look at the clock I like to boogie-woogie, uh, uh It's like ridin' on the wind And it never goes away Touches everything I'm in Got to have it every day
