Do you mean the drum riff? 'Cause funnily enough, the drums on "Treasure" are already kind of a lift from Led Zep anyway (the samples Guthrie used were part of a drum synth that sampled Bonham's drum work)

I voted for the Pogues track, although I can't say I'm a huge fan of it. I think Phil Chevron's previous "Thousands are Sailing" is much better.

cocteaus for me

stephen, Monday, 6 August 2007 20:57 (eighteen years ago)

anatol_merklich, Wednesday, 8 August 2007 10:56 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, Little Mermaid isn't Lorelei, even though they're both mermaids.

Hurray! Everything as it should be :D

Trayce, Monday, 13 August 2007 04:12 (eighteen years ago)

Yes, indeedy.

I'm playing Harold Budd & Brian Eno's The Pearl right now. It sounds suspiciously like Moon & the Melodies!

Bimble, Monday, 13 August 2007 04:33 (eighteen years ago)

That would be because theyre both harold budd on the piano, dur ;P

indeed -- though i am a little surprised that the tom-tom club "lorelei" didn't get a few more votes. it isn't "genius of love," but it's a pleasant enough song.

Eisbaer, Monday, 13 August 2007 06:53 (eighteen years ago)

A belated vote for the 5-years-ahead-of-its-time Styx track here!
