it is sad.
over-listening to good records is indeed a difficult problem in the music obsessive guy's life.

i'd say:
the stooges - s.t.
television - marquee moon
love - forever changes (this is really sad, but i think some day i'll return to it)
there are more...

Think I've already listed some such somewhere on ILM, some time ago...

Well, Queen's Sheer Heart Attack must still be the most obvious for me. The uncountable number of times I listened to it 30-odd years ago will last me the lifetime, surely. (I've seen the CD on sale dirt cheap several times oevr the past 7-8 years, have even picked it up offa the shelf in a shop a couple of times, but then've always come to my senses, heheh:)
Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" and Zep's "Physical Graffiti" and Jethro Tull's "Songs From The Wood" have lingered in a similar imaginary category for a while as well, apparently.

wish you were here seconded

and that has a lot to do with the fact that in 5 seconds flat i can remind myself that i'm sick to death of each of the 5 songs (as great as they all are)

Doesn't this happen to every record? It would be more interesting to know what records you can listen to forever and *not* get tired of.

I've never found such a record. Maybe 'Hound Dog'. Someone told me 'Temple of Love' was one too, but they were just leading me on.
