BUT WE MUST VOTE ON THE BEST ARBITRARY SOUNDTRACK SONG!

― Jeff Treppel, Friday, 10 August 2007 00:14 (nineteen years ago)

Better to get them all over with at one time instead of dragging out a meme over a couple weeks. Bleh.

i love this soundtrack so much. "johnny are you queer" in a narrow win over the plimsouls, payolas, flirts and modern english.

("i melt with you" belongs in this movie and ONLY in this movie.)

― tipsy mothra, Friday, 10 August 2007 00:26 (nineteen years ago)

I have heard this soundtrack 100 times or more, but have never seen the movie. Missing anything?

― Johnny Fever, Friday, 10 August 2007 00:32 (nineteen years ago)

yes the movie kicks ass

Love My Way - The Psychedelic Furs

― chaki, Friday, 10 August 2007 00:33 (nineteen years ago)

With the exception of Sparks, I don't really like any of the bands, but I love the movie so much that all of the songs on the soundtrack seem irrevocably awesome.

deborah foreman's imdb filmography makes me sad for the world.

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

― ILX System, Saturday, 11 August 2007 23:01 (nineteen years ago)

This is pretty much scraping the barrel of 80's cheesiness.

― Bimble, Saturday, 11 August 2007 23:57 (nineteen years ago)

A Million Miles Away. For years it seemed like Valley Girl was on continuous loop on cable and my brother had orders to summon me whenever the Plimsouls were playing.

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

Didn't see this one... Plimsouls easily though.

― Steve Shasta, Monday, 13 August 2007 14:57 (nineteen years ago)

Bhahahahahaa of course Modern English wins! That is hilarious. I love you all, etc.

― Bimble, Monday, 13 August 2007 15:00 (nineteen years ago)

bah. "eyes of a stranger" should've won.

lots of the great songs are on a second volume rhino put out. 3 contenders from that: sparks' "eaten by the monster of love" and bonnie hays with the wild combo's two tunes "girls like me" (fuxxoring title sequence tune is not even on main soundtrack???!!!) and the awesome "shelly's boyfriend."

― andrew m., Monday, 13 August 2007 17:04 (nineteen years ago)

Bimble do you even know who Tony Wilson is? You disgust me.

― Steve Shasta, Monday, 13 August 2007 17:27 (nineteen years ago)

three years pass...

the Pat Travers one is totally ridiculous, but yet.. so memorable!
