Voted Johnny Hates Jazz. Again.

Pet Shop Boys will probably win, even though I have never understood why that particular track was so great.

"I'm Tired of Getting Pushed Around"

Giving the vote to my 15 yr old self: Sinead

ledge, Thursday, 16 August 2007 14:00 (eighteen years ago)

hang on, where the fuck did my post just go?

grimly fiendish, Thursday, 16 August 2007 14:03 (eighteen years ago)

CHRIST. that's annoying. there's a bug in here somewhere, i think.

anyway. what i said was that hurrah, i'd been waiting for this; that this was the only now tape i ever owned; that it is inextricably tied up with my 12-year-old self; that i listened to the, ahem, "house" side constantly before suddenly getting heavily into early OMD and beginning a glorious voyage backwards in time.

my vote is for "beat dis" because it was the best thing on there at the time, and i reckon it still is. that said: mozzer and the PSBs run it close.

Two Men a Drum Machine and a Trumpet

i can't remember what this sounded like. weren't they ex-living in a box, or something? or ex-FYC?

Something went wrong with the image link, but the cover looked like this:

Not actually ex-FYC at the time (She Drives Me Crazy came out a full year after the track on this comp) but yeah.

xpost

bug = the xpost notification appears below the question, and when there's a poll you don't notice it because it's off the bottom of the screen.

ah! that could well be it. either that or i'm a bell-end.

KRUSH, HOUSE ARREST!

I didn't buy this, but then I hardly needed to. This must have been at the height of my chart 7" single collecting as I bought all these singles from Woolworths:

Pet Shop Boys : "Always on My Mind"
Belinda Carlisle : "Heaven is a Place on Earth"
Morrissey : "Suedehead"
T'Pau : "Valentine"
Billy Idol : "Hot in the City"
Sinéad O'Connor : "Mandinka"
Vanessa Paradis : "Joe Le Taxi"

I wonder why I didn't buy any of the housey-housey stuff that's on there? I love it!

"mandinka" is so much better than "always on my mind"... wtf.

Steve Shasta, Sunday, 19 August 2007 23:04 (eighteen years ago)

er: how come only one vote for "beat dis" when two of us said we were voting for it?

I DEMAND AN INQUIRY.
