I was listening to the song Seeland by Neu and after hearing the protracted rain during the outro realized I could follow this on a mix with Raining Blood by Slayer, which has rain sounds as its intro. I could follow that with Riders on the Storm by the Doors another rain intro, and somebody told me that that song Make it Rain has a rain intro, although I haven't listened to the whole song.
Help me make a whole mix CD following this template.

you should totally edit the storm sequences out of the songs, and blend them together, such that the mix is one long rain storm, with song intros and outros fading in and out...

"Teardrop" - Massive Attack "The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly" by Missy doesn't have actual rain but has crickets and thunder. Is that close enough?
― Stevie D, Thursday, 16 August 2007 18:48 (eighteen years ago)
ok "Teardrop" is actually vinyl static but with the boom at the start it might as well be raindrops. Or, uh, teardrops.

"Molfsee" by Ulrich Schnauss. Rain at both ends of the track so it will segue nicely.

The denouement of my preferred cut off of Matthew Sweet's "In Reverse", ends with the sound of it's titular phenomenon: "Thunderstorm".
― violoncellos, Friday, 17 August 2007 14:59 (eighteen years ago)
Special mention to Van Halen's acoustic "Could This Be Magic" which features real, live authentic rain throughout. (Plus an uncredited backing vocal from Nicolette Larson.) Apparently, they left the studio doors open for ambience. Unfortunately, it's not as audible as a sound effect would be. You can hear it best during the intro and outro both.
― Myonga Vön Bontee, Friday, 17 August 2007 16:17 (eighteen years ago)
The San Sebastian Strings with Rod McKuen. There's a great break-up song off the album Summer ... "Summer Evening" ... which has rain and storm sounds throughout. Killer track, worth searching.

On the b-side of the 1989 12" called "Shrift" by Pacific on the Creation label, there are two mellow, melancholy instrumentals. One is called "Mineral" and it begins with the sound of rain.

Has filthy dylan or anyone else made this yet?
I'm working on it, but finding it hard to track down some of the songs.
However, discoveries:
That Dramatics song is FABULOUS. There's a group called the Gentle Rain, who do this great song Sour Soul, which sounds like the title, but with more wah wah guitar.
Anyway, might try and finish it this weekend ...
