Q. So then Ben, it seems every track on the EP involves death, drunkenness, desperate poverty, diabolical dealings, incest, murder and abandonment. Does this reflect your current state of mind?

A. Well you know I have days. Those songs were written a few years back when I had a few problems with someone very close – things started to weigh me down – and I generally don’t like to talk about it, you know.

Q. Okay yeah, no problem.

A. What it is you see, is that you can love someone and hate them at the same time, and I felt like I was on a tightrope, kind of like a precipice – it was all a bit deranged, and I guess that comes through in the music.

Q. Yeah sure. Your guitarist used to be in Evil Gazebo. Has that been an influence on your sound do you think?

A. Well those particular songs were more about the descent into madness which I found myself falling into. So obviously I wrote those songs through nothing really to do with erm, this new guitarist… and er, it’s all to do with the ensuing psychiatric help, which I suppose is in evidence within the lyrics. As I say, I don’t want to go into that too much.

Q. Right yeah. Your ex-girlfriend informs us – errm – after her new band of course Pankhurst entered the charts last week – that your treatment as such was at a voluntary day ward and you went along there purely to get people into thinking you were the new Nick Drake.

i hated "lips of an angel" at the time prob b/c i could tell it wasn't something you were 'supposed to like' in a very nickelback way, but whenever i hear it now i think it's pretty good

They're back!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE New York, NY (November 4, 2014) - Hinder have certainly had quite the ride to arrive at this point in their career. The hard rocking group’s 2005 debut, Extreme Behavior, sold over three-million copies in the United States, while their breakthrough single “Lips of an Angel” hit #1 on the Billboard Pop Chart. Three highly successful studio albums later, the band is excited to announce they have signed on with The End Records for their upcoming single “Hit The Ground”, due out November 24th and new album coming in 2015.

“We couldn't be more excited to team up with "The End" for our new release. It's a great feeling to develop a partnership that shares such knowledge and passion about the music.” – Cody Hanson

In addition to the new label, Hinder has partnered with veteran manager, Mark Adelman, of Career Artist Management.

The multi-platinum Oklahoma City hard rockers Joe "Blower" Garvey, Mark King, Mike Rodden, and Cody Hanson entered the studio with their new singer as of 2013, Nolan Neal, in the spring to record a brand new effort that was co-produced by Hanson and Marshal Dutton. There are no boundaries, and every idea was fair game throughout the process. Hanson says, "We like to think we can do anything. We don't want to be stuck in a rut with one type of sound or formula. One song might have a country influence, while another might have a pop influence. Then, there are some heavy metal moments. We have every element covered on this record. You've got to do what's best for the song." After nearly a decade, Hinder are stronger than ever. Hanson concludes, "This band was built around a strong core of hard work and friendship. Like it or not, we're going to be around for a long time."

Combining raw riffs with big hooks and vocal harmonies, Hinder takes their cues from rock legends such as Aerosmith, AC/DC, KISS and Guns N’ Roses, and update them with modern guitar sounds. Their debut release catapulted the band to mainstream fame while 2008’s follow up Take It to the Limit surpassed Gold status after debuting at #4 on the Billboard Top 200 with over 80,000 copies sold first week. Third effort, All American Nightmare, dropped in 2010, followed by Welcome To The Freakshow in 2012.

Having toured with the likes of Mötley Crüe and Nickelback to Aerosmith and Papa Roach, Hinder looks forward to continuing their journey in support of their new single and upcoming 5th studio release in 2015.
